Just back from an 8 night stay at POFQ. Had a fantastic trip, but wanted to give some feedback on this resort.

The last time we stayed here was roughly 5 years ago. All is pretty much as I remembered, meaning not much has changed, if anything at all, in appearance or feel. (the room appeared updated but not as much as I expected I guess).

First the good points. Nice small resort. Easy to get around. Love the boats to DTD and the pools both here and at Riverside. I like the Riverside slide a bit better as it is longer, more exciting for the kids. (We stayed at Riverside last year and felt it on OK resort as well).

The room. Very, very average. (We DID have a fridge though). Maybe I'm just used to the Wilderness Lodge and AK, stayed at those quite a bit over the years, but for the price, it left me feeling rather bored. We stayed at the Hampton Lake Buena Vista for a night before checking in, and frankly, for $100 less per night, the room was bigger and cleaner.

Bad points, with notes on how things were handled. Please note, this is not a gripe session, but rather pointing out some "bad" experiences I never before had at Disney, and how they were dealt with.

Check in. Went fine, however, our room was not ready until roughly 2:59pm. Granted, we were given a riverside view, yes a free upgrade, so the wait was worth it. Not that I much care for a "view" at a moderate, and it really only makes sense to me to pay more if I have a balcony like a deluxe.

Room keys and park tickets. This is where the real pain began. In a nutshell, we checked in on Saturday and I needed to visit the front desk each and every day, sometimes twice, up until the following Wednesday for them to finally get the keys working correctly. I also had daily issues with the dining plan not being correct, kept showing up on the keys as not there, and park tickets not working 7 out of the 9 days we used them. Eventually the manager felt so bad they gave me a refund on one nights stay which was nice, but frankly, not worth the frustration of having to visit the check in desk every day for nearly a week. (We were also given a dozen fast passes to use since so many hours had been wasted trying to fix keys, tickets and dining). These were received by giving a number I was given at the front desk to guest relations at the park entrance.

Lastly. Mousekeeping. No real complaints, but nothing to write home about either. The room was far from spotless as I am used to at a Disney resort. Again, just average over all. (One towel animal was given throughout the stay).

An addition regarding the front desk people. While professional, they were lacking in service whenever I had an issue. I stood around quite a bit just waiting to be helped, and then when help came, they spent more time in the back room than actually speaking with me. Also, regarding a bounce back. Thankfully I was already aware of what was available from the DIS boards and had the phone number handy. When I asked at the front desk what was available, or for information on a hand out\leaflet phone number, they were pretty much clueless.

In the end, I rate the resort 6/10 for service, cleanliness and a far from hassle free stay. Would I stay here again? Probably not. If I were going Mod, I'd do Caribbean Beach or Coronado Springs first. I did book the free dining bounce back however, for a 9 night stay at the Wilderness Lodge for next August. Can't wait!

Sorry to hear about your issues. When we were at POFQ last summer, we got towel animals daily including some "interacting" with my kids' stuffed animals. I guess it just comes down to what mousekeeper you get. As to the front desk not knowing about bouncebacks, I wouldn't hold that against them. We just got back from YC and no CM (not even the club level CM's) could tell me about any current bounceback offer. The only way I knew was from here. I booked our BB next year for POFQ so I hope it's still as I remembered it. We like how small it is which makes it very easy to get around.

Sorry to hear about all the issues you had. Definitely sounds like a huge hassle every day to have to go to the front desk. Glad to hear that the manager tried to take care of you though. We have been staying at POFQ for the past 11 days and I am glad to report that we have had no issues. Originally we did not like our room and they moved us immediately and we also have a fridge. We have hardly ever had to wait for a bus more than 10 minutes. Used the boat from Downtown Disney numerous times as well. Live this resort.
