oh! oh!
i have a poem/song!
my history teacher asked us to make up a song or something about imperialism in japan or something, so my friend and i did!
It's actually to the blood brothers' "love rhymes with hideous car wreck" - we just changed the lyrics. and my friend learned the guitar tabs, so we're performing it tomorrow hahaha ok i'll post the lyrics

(if you sing along to the song, it actually kinda goes!)

The Japenese, ran around like they had their heads chopped off,
the european man, came + took their land, tried to westernize, but their plan had failed
in one eight five oh to one eight six four, a devastating peasant revolt did occur
the british sold them all...kinds of opium .. so they'd get high .. and watch them all die !

Ok, if you read this , I need your honest , harsh opinion. I'm considering submitting this to my school's literary magazine and I wanna know what you think.

she thought it was love,
but it was merely pity, and his greedy hands
she thought they could wait, settle down,
but he had other plans
so he always told her that he loved her,
and she liked to believe it was real..
thought he was her one and only,
never knowing how love really feels
and one day he lead her up the stairs
to that dark cold floor,
where it killed her inside ,
to know she wasn't true anymore
but he, he couldn't care less
and they both tried their best
to pretend like nothing had happened
dead to him, she watched as he picked out
his next victim
helpless and love-struck,
she was drunk on his lips,
and her salty eyes wouldn't let her see
