Podcast Cruise Door Magnet Design??

I would really like to make one that says, Our First Mommy & Me Cruise Vacation, but I'm not sure where to start. Where does everyone find these neat graphics and how do you then add all the writing. I'm at the Graphics 101 level, but I'm a fast learner!

Do I need PhotoShop because I've been wanting an excuse to buy that!!

Actually I use Creative Memories digital scrapbooking software - Storybook Creator Plus. They offer lots of cute Disney add-ons. But, I think you can do this kind of thing in something as simple as PowerPoint or Word.

You can download the Walt Disney handwriting font for free lots of places on the internet - if that's the writing you are talking about.

I just use PowerPoint. Works for me. There are a ton of pictures on the cruise board. Everyone is really nice about sharing.

Where do you find the time? 3 little kids and you're able to do this stuff too - I'm amazed. I have no digital-abilities. Uploading my pictures is my limit. Great job - we're crusing w/o kids too (of course my "kids" are 35 and 38, they don't tag along with us any more). They only get to come with us by special invitation.

I feel a conga line forming!! Or at least a popular "in joke" group activity. "Let's all go knock on Jen's door." You take :15 past, I'll take :30, next takes :45 and so on. I'll have a sign-up list after the safety drill...

If we let Disney set the times, they may vary (13 past, 27 past, 49 past, etc)

I already posted this on the fish extender thread, but this is the big magnet I made for our door (we're from Indianapolis - Racing Capital of the World, so we have a theme!):

And I'll be looking forward to seeing it everytime I open our door - our cabin is right across from yours! Shelly & I are in 6085.

I have spent the entire (yup, entire) day working on the prototype (yup, not even the real one) of our fish extender... I have to take some pictures and run it past Shelly...

My laptop crashed yesterday. It now has the BSoD (blue screen of death). I'm so depressed. I'm using DD's computer right now. I have somewhere between 50-100 images (some personalized by fellow DISigners) saved for possible use on the cruise. I'm worried sick that I'm gonna lose them! I have to go out and buy a portable hard drive I guess to back up my system. Then Dell tells me I have to reload my operating system (Windows XP) and start anew. Sometimes I REALLY dislike computers. But not nearly as much as I HATE tech support!!! Anyway, when the tech asked me if I was willing to lose all of my files etc., the first thing I thought of was all of my magnet designs!! Hell no, I ain't willing to lose my files etc.! BTW, yesterday was my birthday. Happy birthday to me!

Before you believe too much in what Dell tech support says, you should know that I just got my "BSoD'd" Dell laptop rescued by our company's local tech support Dell contractors when phone support got everything WRONG....

Ya know, I never really trust them (Dell tech support). I'm only gonna do that as a LAST resort. The thing that gets me is that I paid extra for the in-home nights/weekends 24/7 tech support for 4 years (expires 08-23-2010). Never once did she offer to set that up for me. That's how I started the conversation....I need to set up an in-home service call. They have NOTHING posted about how to do this on their website. Of course, she launches into a standard, by-the-book tech support "fix". And WHY do they always have to funnel calls through INDIA?! UGH!! Since I don't have my own personal geek buddy to call on, I'm gonna PAY for my own via Geek Squad. Never used them before but, ya know, sometimes it's just easier to just have a pro work through the problem for you.....for $200-$300! I'm gonna give 'em a call tomorrow and see what they say. Hopefully, they can perform a miracle. Thanks for the positive encouragement!...... Sorry about hijacking the thread folks!

Namine is kinida excited about the movie coming out today, so he wanted a Tinkerbell one. We're still toying with personalization ideas. The PodCast cruise specific design got put on the back burner I guess.

We'll just have to wait and see when it gets pushed to the front of the line...
