Maybe its the start of a semi-regular new segment. Perhaps once a month you could list some of the mini-meets being planned and the listeners could come over here to look for more info.

Wow that sounds good So how long does it take you to get there? I imagine it's like us going to southern or eastern Europe

Hershey sounds like fun. I have to admit I don't know what Big E is? I just looked it up. I LOVE state fairs.

I have trouble keeping up with this thread. I need to do better now that the holidays are over!

Taste of Chicago sounds cool. Need to go check this out. And right around my birthday too.

Woo hoo! If you are thinking of coming I can pre-purchase strips of tickets at a local grocery store for 1.50 less a sheet than at the actual event. Last year we bought 30 strips so our savings added up fast!

So Indy for us is a definite...duh...Hershey is a possibility...as well as Chicago. We're got some financial issues to work through right now but I'm optimistic. My main focus is getting us on that ship in December. Even if we can't do any extra days or anything...but if I can get us on that ship...that's what matters most!

Hi Brandie! We will see you at Indy and hopefully Chicago too! We might possibly go to Hershey too, but it also depends on our finances, but Indy is a must!

The weekend of June 26th and 27th would be good for the Taste as most people have events already planned for the 4th. I wonder if there will be any free concerts that evening at the Pritzker Pavilion! I love the free concerts there! Also wonder who the performers will be that weekend at the the Petrillo Shell. The musical line up for the Taste will probably be released the beginning of April. Wow! We are early planners!

Hey Kim - I think last summer/fall a few of us were talking about going to Hershey, PA. There is a big amusement park (it's no Disney) and a "Chocolate World", and a small zoo. I haven't been there in about 6 years, so, I'm sure I'm a little out of the loop. It looks like it will be over a weekend in August. Hope you can join us!



I'm so glad that time frame seems to be good for you guys! When I have five minutes I'm going to make a whole new thread for this mini-trip!

If this is going to happen on a weekend, then this just might be doable for us as well. Someone please keep me posted!

No problem, I will keep it here until the dates are established.

So it appears that August is good for everyone, so that's one hurdle down....Now we have to decide which weekend. The weekends that seem good for the majority are:

the weekend of 8/7

or

the weekend of 8/14

I'm just trying to get a handle of which weekend (Sat/Sun) is best for everyone. People may come the Friday before or stay the Monday after, but, I just want to pin down the Sat/Sun dates so everyone can put it on their calendars!

I am going to go out on a limb here as I have not talkked to John about this yet. However I am thinking the weekend of 8/14 would be better for us, if we are able to make it.

I'm not familiar with Hershey Park so looked them up Why is everything 5-6 hours away?! I noticed they have a campsite. It could be fun to rent a deluxe cabin with others so we'd have a place to hangout too. We'd just have to be careful no one falls into the firepit 8/14 sounds good too

Wow, that's quite a trek - like London to New York! I guess things are a bit more spread out down there? I would love to visit Asia at some point.

Hi Katherine! It will definatley be over a weekend. I will put your vote in for 8/14. No one else has expressed interest in the previous weekend, so it definatley looks like it will take place over the weekend of the 14th. That would be so cool if you guys could come! I will keep you updated.

If Chicago works for Becky & I still, it will be later in July as our school runs until the end of June.
