That's how I feel about Ohio!

I went from SW Michigan to Chicago for 5 years, and now we're in central Illinois. Our weather isn't exactly balmy in the winter, but we usually get less snow and have warmer temps than Chicago. The funny thing is - my mom sold our house in Michigan in 1981 and invited me to move to FL with her. But noooooooooooooo...I wanted to live in Chicago!!! :rotfl2: :sad2:

Good Morning Everyone !!!!

Well, summer is officially over for us...as we closed the pool on Monday....I have to admit, I love the fall weather...no A/C or heat needed..I can open the doors and windows....

The fall weather is great! But it is going to get cold this weekend :guilty:

Yes it is...I'm meeting with Melissa on Saturday and I'm sure it will be colder in Williamsburg.

It's getting colder here as well. It's actually been a mild fall so far which really gives me concerns for a bad winter!

Don't say that. We are going to Busch Gardens on Saturday.

Oh...you might run into Melissa an Aaron...after our lunch, they are headed to Busch Gardens for the evening. (at least I think that's what they planned)

It's getting hard to try to predict our winters now...we normally don't get much snow (well, where I live anyway), but the last 2 years it's been rough...last year starting with Christmas night we got a massive snow storm which dropped 17 inches in my back yard...the "official" report was 14 inches at the airport...but I measured what I had...this area just isn't set up for that kind of snow..I grew up in New Jersey so I know what it can be like...I even took my driving test in the snow (here they would have cancelled it until the roads were clear...:rotfl:

Oh good heavens...it's only the end of October and I'm talking about snow..what is wrong with me :scared1:

The weather here in London is still quite mediocre with temperatures varying between 50 and 60 degrees.

My DH was in Holland, MI on Monday and they had the same weather as VA. Sounds like Michigan is having a nice and warm fall this year.

Cheri - I am still waiting for that "not much snow in the winter" that I keep hearing about. I have been through 2 winters down here and there has been as much snow as a winter in Detroit.

Weather here in the PNW was great yesterday. It was sunshine and 50's. The colors are starting to peak in the Cascades and the drive home was beautiful. I love the fall colors. That was one of the things I missed the 3 years I lived in Miami. Today it is suppose to get back to our typical rain and 50's fall weather.

Hmmm...you've been here for 2 winters and we've massive snow for 2 winters...did you perhaps bring the snow with you? :rotfl2:

I lived in WA for a year, and I remember it rained a LOT....

I think I did! I have never experienced a winter without one huge (8+ inches) snowfall.

Another Buckeye here. Although I live in Texas (compliments of the US Air Force) I still claim Columbus, my birthplace. My University does not play football, so I've accepted my father's and grandfather's alma mater as my adopted college program of choice.

Go Bucks!

So for those that can only do Disney World for a few days, any good methods of buying discounted tickets? It's absurd what WDW does to DCL folks that want to sneak in a little park time. I've always thought that the two business units should work together and give the cruisers a break. I have no need for the 7 day pass or similar to get the per day discount. It's almost more than the cost of my tips on board to go 2-3 days!!

Tickets for just a few days at the parks are very expensive. In the past, I bought longer non-expiring tickets for my family to use a few days at a time, and I got them from Undercover Tourist. Prices have really increased on the non-expiring tickets, but those have the lowest per-day cost.

Good Morning Everyone...hope this finds you all having a great day so far. It's going to be 80 degrees here today, then a COLD front is settling in with the highs only in the 50s tomorrow...think I'll have to break down and turn the heat on....my DBF has been complaining for a week now that the house is cold (temps range between 70-75) :confused3 ...Oh well.

I am not looking forward to the rain! Yuck!

Must of been a bad year. This summer was perfect IMHO. Sunshine and 80's while the rest of the country was baking. I am glad every one has finally cooled off. Have to see what this fall/winter brings. They say it is another La Nina year. Which usally means cold and wet.

Kevin.
