So, what I have learned in these two posts is that Andrea is a saint and Paul likes to watch soap operas.

I would hardly call myself a saint :littleangel:, far from it, but Paul may like to watch soap operas ;)

The spanish novellas have all the hot babes!! :thumbsup2

White Sands by any chance????

South of Socorro, very close to Mexico.

Phillip wants to know if we should brush up on our sign language, with your explosives fun coming right before the trip. :)

LOL! I can barely hear now thanks to an unfortunate artillery incident and multiple bouts of machine gun fire. Just make sure you talk into my right ear! :thumbsup2

I'll share my SIL with you, Andrea. I like her. My brother's wife. :goodvibes
She, however, has a SIL (her brother's wife) somewhat like yours. I'm sorry for you both!

Guess I'm lucky. Get along with DH family. The extended family, however, has a few loo-loos.:goodvibes

DH doesn't like one of my sisters. She 'did us wrong' many years ago. Forgive. Forget. DH has a hard time with that.

My life right now is amazingly soap opera free, which makes me quite happy.

I am a little sad that As The World Turns is ending. I don't watch it more, but I have a special place for it in my heart. My mother watched the show when it first started and she was pregnant with me.

When are the last shows? I grew up watching it with my mom, then on my own up until about 5 years ago.. I want to see how the wrap it all up.

Recorded final episodes last week.
Series finale September 17.
I will be taping the last episodes even though I do not know the more recent characters.

I'll be at a course in New Mexico detonating explosives until Dec. 10th. I'm going pretty much directly from NM to WDW. Lots of traveling in December. :thumbsup2

You do like to have all the fun, don't you? :goodvibes:lmao:

As for Christmas, we always spend Christmas at my Grandparents house (which happens to be right next door)!! We would be disowned if we weren't there! :rotfl:

Andrea, sorry about the drama your SIL caused. That always puts a downer on an otherwise festive occasion.

My brother's live-in girlfriend did that one year at my parents house. She brought her 2 year old granddaughter with her from Texas and proceeded not to watch her at all while at my parent's house - which was not childproof. The mother (her daughter from a previous marriage) of the child was back home in Texas. She also would get seconds of food and then not eat what she put on her plate. Another night during the same trip, my mother cooked all day for them and then they proceeded to not show up at dinner time. They decided to stay at the hotel and didn't bother to call to say they were not coming over that evening. My mother was ready to send them packing back to Texas after a few days of their week long visit.

My family Christmas is just me, mom & dad & the dogs usually. My brother only comes up from Texas every few years. However he has been out of work for almost two years now and I don't expect to see him this year as a result. We celebrate on Christmas Eve and then on Christmas Day, I go and celebrate Christmas with my "Lil Sis'" Family. We are not related by blood, but she was an only child and grew up next door to my family. She looked up to me as her Big Sis, so we started the tradition in 2007 at their first Christmas after they moved back home from Hawaii where they lived for 5 years. With me being gone the majority of the month of December, I am probably not going to decorate outside this year or do something very minimal at best to give the appearance that someone is at home.

Oh, Tracey! I am looking at the temperature in your signature.
82 degrees after 10:00, still pretty warm!

We are at 68. I think that is warm for this late in the evening. Muggy still, too.

It is 82 with no humidity so, it actually feels quite nice outside.

Bec- If you are to buy some American Mac and Cheese it has got to be Kraft in the blue box!

I have been working at my job for 7 years and have 5 weeks vacation if I count my sick days and floating days.
Luckily they do let me use my sick days for vacation cause I need those days for Disney! We max out on days at 15 years I will get another week vacation.

We are arriving on December 3rd and leaving on the 19th, planning on doing as many meets and parties as possible!

As far as Christmas goes. We use to have a very hectic Christmas. I always have celebrated Christmas in Michigan. Christmas Eve was at my step-dads Polish family. After my step-dad and mother got divorced I started going to my great-grandmothers on Christmas eve. Then Christmas morning was usually spent with my mother's family and Christmas evening spent with my father's family.

Since I met Jason we have been doing his family Christmas on Christmas Eve for midnight mass, and then leaving very late and arriving in Michigan at 3 am- 5 am on Christmas morning, then hanging out at my step-dads Christmas morning, going to my mom's side late morning early evening, and then finishing it off at my dad's side. It is way hectic. The past two years we stayed home. It has felt very weird because ever since I can remember I always celebrate with my family in Michigan. I am hoping we can get there this Christmas, but we will see as Jason has a hard time getting days off around Christmas too working retail.

When I met Jason

Jen, you have no idea.... It's not the first time she has done this, so I wasn't surprized, but it was the worst I've seen, and in front of my family. I really don't like to say that she's jealous, but, she is. She is married to Vinny's oldest brother, and they are about 12 or so years older than us. They live in an apartment and can't afford to buy a house (they do want a house, nothing against living in an apartment). Getting drunk and dissing on my stuff is just a way of "getting back" at us.

That night after everyone left, Vinny called his brother (her husband) and said what she did wasn't right, ect... and Vinny's brother just said, "you tell her how you feel because when I tell her she acts out of control she doesn't believe me." Vinny called her, and guess what, she didn't answer her phone, so he emailed her. He didn't tell me what he said in the email, but she never emailed him back or acknowledged it in any way.

Plus, just to give you something else to blow your mind - she never really liked me from the beginning since her sister and Vinny dated for 4 years and he broke up with her and started dating me. She wanted her sister to marry Vinny so they could be sisters and sisters-in -law. So, to this day, I am "friendly" with Vinny's ex since she is at a lot of the family functions. She came to my bridal shower/wedding, ect.. and I've been to hers. She's also my friend on Facebook, lol.

 Well done for being the better person, it's such a shame that for one day people can't get over themselves and be civil :sad2: I'm glad you don't have all the stress this year :goodvibes

We aren't sure when we will be doing Christmas this year. We have to juggle it between a Fire Department Schedule, a Hospital Schedule and what mom wants, my mom.. not me...

I feel for all your soap opera stories about the holidays, we have them here as well, way too much to write.. let's just say I have started to hate the holidays because of the drama.

I don't get why the holidays seem to bring out the worst in people (or is it the alcohol!) the true meaning seems to get lost :confused3

:thumbsup2 Will put Kraft (blue box) mac and cheese on my list - thanks :goodvibes

Wow sounds like you have a busy holiday period! Last year we had told DH's family we were spending the day with my Mum as she is on her own but we still had to go to the pub for drinks :sad2: Families eh!

Happy hump day everyone

I did not want to get out of bed today :sad2: I just feel exhausted - hoping I perk up mid morning!

Happy Hump Day and last day of June to all. Hard to believe June is gone and July is right around the corner....

Hope everyone has a good day :)

Good Morning Everyone !!! It's considerably cooler today...hope it stays this way for awhile.

Wow! Is it really July tomorrow?!
The summer is just flying by.
The days are getting shorter.
So sad...:sad1:

December brings shorter night hours at WDW parks. But that is okay since everything twinkles and glows and sparkles at night.

DH took some very incriminating video while at the Osborne Lights last year.
But really, how can you NOT sing and dance in the streets there during the holidays.
Those are some of my fondest memories and I'm looking forward to "enjoying" myself again this year too :goodvibes

Watching the Osborne Lights is one of my fondest memories from DAP. In my crazy head, it made it feel like a family going caroling.

:goodvibes Nice one - I've almost caught up to you ;)

Um, I just passed you yesterday...you've been in the lead this whole time....

I usually have a huge Christmas Eve, Italian style, with the traditional fish dinner with my family and Vinny's family.

Seven fishes? My nona comes up from Tampa and its a great big family affair to make the seven fishes. I don't eat seafood, but yum to hand made noodles.

Sorry your SIL is a brutacativa.

Guess I'm lucky. Get along with DH family. The extended family, however, has a few loo-loos.:goodvibes

We're extended family? ;);)

Life is too short and precious to not be able to forgive.

Happy Wednesday, Cruising Friends!!!!

Today marks the last day of the first half of the year. :cool1::cool1::cool1:
