Just setting realistic expectations...

This photograph was taken during DIS-a-Palooza last year. Same weekend as our cruise this year. Look at the clothing. Hats, gloves, scarves, warm coats, etc. The entire weekend wasn't as cold as this particular day and night, but it is a possibility. (The windchill was near 32 degrees this particular night and it was misting.)

Notice that none of us cared, particularly. But, we weren't swimming either.

You mean that isn't your finest beach attire?

Says the guy in the hat with ear flaps. ;)

Pickling adds warmth. :)

Last year was an unusually cold winter. I hope this years isn't like that.

I was at WDW for a week in 2008. Nover wore the pants I packed. One evening I wished for a jacket, but survived.

So I am sitting here staring at my color coded spreadsheet and I can't decide where to eat pre cruise. I know WCC on the 12th, but that's it. We arrive in the afternoon on the 10th at WVL and are going to the MK on the 11th. Nothing is jumping out at me for a meal.

Is anyone meeting up for a pre-Boardwalk meet dinner?

I was fine all day until the wind started whipping off of the lake - then it got cold - that when I went for the hot chocolate.

Right now we are also arriving in the evening of of 10th/

What did you have in mind for a pre-meet dinner? ( that is unless you will be sick of seeing us, lol )

I can't think of anything interesting either.....

Ah..but it was a nice break from what we were getting up here. (Did Carnval cruise last Dec then spent time with in-laws at McDill AFB)

I've been thinking about Yachtsman Steakhouse for Jeff and me that evening, but I haven't decided yet.

But how about The Fountain at The Dolphin? Good burgers and ice cream!

I'm definitely bringing a hat and some gloves this year (just in case), but I won't really need them because it will be nice and warm this year, won't it?

Never sick of you! Plus our kids can entertain each other. :goodvibes We'll be at the MK on the 11th.

I was thinking somewhere near the Boardwalk. Brewery, Cape May, Yatchmans, Beaches N Cream. The Fountain could work too.

Yachtsman Steakhouse sounds like a great dinner for the two of you! If we didn't have the kids it would be on my list!

We could do any of those - definatley should keep it near the Boardwalk that way we will be right there. I haven't been to Beaches N Cream in a long time, and my kids have never been... Since they don't take ADR's that may be tricky for all of us. We could do the Fountain too, or Cape May, or Brewery or even ESPN - we're easy, lol...

Agree, Yachtmans is nice, but with kids.....

The brewery doesn't take ADRs either but I liked their menu. How about either the Brewery or The Fountain?

Butting in on your conversation----Cape May dinner is really good:thumbsup2

Feel free! :goodvibes

I can only speak for myself but I like to try restaurants that we haven't eaten at before. We've had Cape May and it was okay but we aren't seafood eaters.

If your family are not seafood eaters, then Cape May is out.

The Brewery or the Fountain is fine - whichever has a more appealing menu, or if you want to just stay on the Boardwalk we can just go to the Brewery. We ate there on our honeymoon, and haven't been back since....oh, the memories :laughing::laughing:

All this Pre/Post stay talk is making me sad. I can't do a pre stay due to cheer competition DD has on the 11th but was planning a post stay. Problem with that is trying to get our friends whom are not part of the DIS group but are crusing with us to also stay. Hmmmm maybe I can persuade them to stay if I get their rooms with pts. :scratchin

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers! Happy Saturday!!

Trip planning today for Pre cruise stay - where to eat -time to make those ADRs.

Me too! We can make ADRs next week (arriving 12/10).
So far we are planning this:
Citrico's- Friday dinner
Yachtsman- Saturday dinner (pre-DIS meet at Boardwalk)

Anyone interested in joining us for either dinner?
I'd be happy to add you to our ADR. :)
