Pod Cast this week?

I am one of the many who are in podcast withdrawels.
Does the podcast crew realize the role they play in helping us get through our long commutes, housecleaning, exercises (insert other unpleasent activity here)?
The podcast offers a little sprinkle of pixie dust for these otherwise unpleasant activities.
Still, life gets in the way and we can't burden the crew with being the sole source of goodness in these otherwise dreary activities, so does anyone have any suggestions of podcasts, music ect. that I can add to my iTunes library during interims such as these?
Thanks!

I can't speak for the team, but in my opinion if there is such a strong following for a show like the DIS Unplugged as evident through posts on this forum, I am sure they are aware of the role they play each week. Unfortunately, sometimes life events (good or bad) prevent a show from being produced.

In the interim, here are a few suggestions I have for those eagerly, yet patiently waiting for a new episode:

  • Re-Listen: Pick your favorite episode and listen to it again. You might notice something different this time that you did not notice originally!

  • Post on the Boards: Have a question or topic you'd like to hear discussed? Post a thread on the DIS Unplugged Forum and get advice from your fellow DISers. Members of the podcast team also post on the boards.

  • Try Something New: Listen to the Disneyland Edition of the DIS Unplugged. Even if you don't have a trip to DL set for the future, it is fun to hear about the differences between the parks. Remember, DL was Walt's original and there's a lot of history behind how the resort is set-up. The DL team does a great job of mixing history, current news, and fun into each show. A new episode was just released!

  • Listen to an Old Episode: Were you around before Ferris & Finley? Did you listen to the show when Bob Varley was with us? Try a show that you have never listened to...dare I say, before your time. It's fun to see what you may have missed!

  • Record an Intro: Both the WDW and DL shows are recruiting intros to use on each episode. Grab your mic or iPhone and create a jazzy intro for them to use. Include the name of the show and its origin. The rest is up to you!

  • Send a Question: Have a question for the podcast team? Visit this page or email your question to podcast@wdwinfo.com.

I hope this handy list helps! Looking forward to a new episode next week!

I would go and search YouTube for DISunplugged and have a DIS TV moment or two.

You can also listen to some hidden Gems...

I never heard these before.......Ummmmmm, I'm just going to say....thank goodness they went on vacation and Pete decided to take over.

:thumbsup2

Way too overproduced....reminds me of another Podcast (that shall remain nameless). I can't sit through a full episode of it either. :lmao:

Now, if I could just find the illusive Gaylord Palms Live DIS Radio show from ICE... That was a fun show to listen to!

Hey Folks,

Sorry for the disruption in the show schedule. I did record a solo show yesterday which should be up shortly.

Since Walter and I have decided to have the wedding here in December, as opposed to Portofino Bay, we've been getting the house ready. I will admit that I'm using this as an excuse to get things done/repaired/changed around the house that have sat on the back burner for far too long. I'm also under a bit of a time constraint as I basically have to have the major work done before Thanksgiving. There WILL be a show next week and likely the week following - depending on how the schedule shakes out. Again, I apologize for the disruption in the schedule - but sometimes life gets in the way. Thanks everyone for understanding.

Pete

We're just glad that all is well! Wishing you all the best on your wedding planning and all the work being done! :grouphug:

For those missing this week's podcast(s), I suggest you head to http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-podcast/abd.htm and download the three available podcasts (there are also photos) about Kevin and John's first ABD trip to Italy.

I asked ("nagged") Kevin about these a little bit ago. I had re-listened to the October 10, 2006, Roundtable Podcast (which you can download in iTunes or which is directly available here) after Kevin announced the 2012 ABD Viva Italy trip. During the podcast, the team mentioned that "a more detailed account of their trip will be made available separately for those interested."

The recordings were originally posted on live365 but the links didn't work. Corey has been able to find the first three files (and I'm still hoping he finds the next 3).

In sending me the link, Kevin needlessly cautioned that that these are "5 years old and we were very, very new to the whole Podcast thing." I need not convince this group that Kevin is being far to self-critical. (Kevin forgets that his classic "sad little crab cake" review is even older. ;)) He also said that while there is a lot of talk about "WALKING 5 MILES" (his words), that this has been "cut down considerably by the addition of a motor coach in recent years."

These are not on iTunes. If you want to listen to them on your iPhone/Pod/Pad, you'll need to first download them (remembering where you saved them) and then transfer them to iTunes (click on "file" then "add file to library" and select the files you downloaded). They will not show up under "podcasts" but under "music" unless you change the "media kind" (under "get info" / "options") to "podcast.")

(And forgive me for cross-posting this in the ABD forum.)
Thank you!!! I emailed the team a while ago that the links weren't working. I'm downloading them right now. I love the ABD trip reports.:banana: Come on, Corey, find those other three!!!! Please?

Oh - didn't realize the solo show was up! I didn't see it in itues but it's on the podcast homepage :cool1: (just incase anyone else missed it too!)

Also, folks, come one. There are over 500 podcasts in the can. If you were to listen to them straight, with no breaks, it would take over 3 weeks to get through them all. With my increasingly older brain, I can listen to a show and then only a few days later not remember everything--let alone shows that are over 5 years old! Having listened to so many older shows, I can honestly say they are great fun. Plus, anyone who is not familiar with Bob owes it to themselves to find our who this DIS-Legend is. There was no one like Bob, and when I listen he is as alive on the podcast as ever to me. Sure, it's bitter-sweet, but he always--always!--brings a smile to my face when I listen.

People, there is no shortage of podcasts! Check out the older ones. Find a review you'd like to listen to again, an ABD trip, I wish we had a "rantalog" to look up specific hissy fits. Seriously, check them out. Great fun!

Pete - I loved the solo (almost) show this week! The woman who moved to fla to help at gktw - AMAZING! I hope you're able to have her on the show at some point to hear more about what she's doing! If what she's doing doesnt inspire people to give a little of themselves, nothing will. :thumbsup2
