We've been to AK many times. It's probably our favorite park! However, we have never seen either of these shows!

We're going to be there in early December with our little boy (20 months old at the time) and we're wondering if we should make it a point to see either or both of these shows.

Our little guy is CRAZY for animals and is fascinated by anything with fur, fins, or feathers. Do you think he would enjoy these? If the animals are little and far away, I don't know if he would get much out of it. If you can sit up close and get a good look at the critters, he would probably enjoy it.

Any thoughts?

DD loved (loves!) Animal Kingdom. We went to Flights of Wonder, we had the Princess Pkg and PS, but it was not necessary, its a large outdoor seating area, and it accomadated everyone - wonderful education on birds for adults, and just plain cute for everyone.

Have a $1 bill handy, as they ask for a volunteer to stand up and a bird flies and grabs it...

and have a camera ready as they pick 2 people from the audience to come up and take a VERY close pic of an owl!!

For Pocohantas, I LOVED this, when we went she sang as opposed to lip synching!! And I couldnt believe how trained the animals were (the raccoons) When we were there they reserved the first 4 rows for kids only - which was great, but some of the younger kids didnt want to sit without parents. Its a smaller area than FOW, and be careful if you go check the times Lion King lets out, for us we poured in after Lion King, but again, they seemed to accomadate most - standing room!!

My DH and DS had to drag me into see the Birds of Wonder show. I'm so happy they did. It is a wonderful show mixing education and entertainment. My son was chosen to participate in the show by doing some math. Also some birds fly right over your head. Your son will enjoy it.

I also enjoy the Flights of Wonder show, but I may never go back for a second viewing of Pochahontas. I just didn't think it was well done or worth the time. For FoW, my dh got to go up on stage to get the video of the owl flying toward him. That was cool.

While I agree with Lora that I will never go back to see Pocahontas a second time, I think that younger kids would truly enjoy it. Unfortunately, unlike most Disney shows, it's just something that didn't appeal to this 23-year old guy and his 17 year old brother (we went to see it in our quest to make sure we had seen everything in every park).

Flights of Wonder, though, is great fun.

last year we had my MIL and SIL with us. I laughed because my family never wants to get picked, etc. The Lion King Show, DS 8 was picked. OK, a dance around the show, fun but no biggie. The same day we went to Flights. It is awesome. DD 16, had a new camera and she was chosen. WOOHOO. Then I had a handful of $1.00 just in case and they called for adult volunteers and I stuck a bill in DH's hand and pushed it up and they chose him. Of course, he had seen the show and wouldn't unhand the bill and the poor bird.... Everyone died laughing. Then DS-8- got called up to do the contest with the parrot and the little stinker figured it out. He must get his brains from DH because it didn't come from me. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
