There are two sections to POR. The first is the alligator bayou (AB). This is themed similar to the old south. Foliage is heavy and very green. The rooms are more rustic with log bed frames and a frog fishing on the shower curtain.
The other section is the mansions. The area around them is veyr clean and reminds you of the main house on an old south plantation. The grounds are well manicured and very pretty. Several fountains scattered throughout.
The rooms in both sections are the same in size but different in the interior design. Both have two sinks, a table with two chairs, and two double beds (king if requested) with an TV armoire that has drawers.
There is one main pool area that is in the middle of the resort. It is called Ole Man Island. AB is closest to the main building, food court, gift shop, check in and main bus stop. Other bus stops, though, are spread out around the resort.
We stayed in AB. The closest building to main area is 14 but is reserved for handicapped. We stayed in 15 and thought the location was fine. 16 and 18 are also fairly close. Someone else will have to help you with the buildings on the mansion side.
