Well I waited too late and my first two hotel choices, CB and CS and sold out for first week in April. Disney site has PO--Riverside available and another website I found that books Disney hotels has PO--French Quarter available. Both say the other PO is sold out.

Anyway, if you had your choice which would you prefer? I understand there is a water slide at the pool--do both POs use this pool?

Thanks in advance!!

I stayed at POFQ June 2004 and I liked the hotel. The pool with the dragon slide is at the POFQ. Guests of both the POR and POFQ can share each others pools. The bus to the parks stops first at POFQ which is nice. I didn't get a chance to visit POR, but the mansions did look nice and the grounds nicely manicured.

W have stayed at both a couple of times. We like the French Quarter a little better because it is not so spread out; the cobblestone streets, gaslights, and wrought-iron balconies are gorgeous; and the bus picks you up at PO-FQ first before going to PO-R. Honestly, we love both resorts and you can't go wrong with either of them.

POFQ is my choice. We will be there on April 2, and 3rd this year. I think it's softer and a prettier choice. If you have aaa call Disney, they had rates for 139, instead of the 169 that I see on so many websites. See ya there!!

I prefer the POFQ. I like the atmosphere there better, and it is a lot more compact, so it's much easier to navigate.

Both the POFQ and the POR have their own pool with slide, but guests from both resorts can use them. POR also has several "quiet" pools.

We really enjoed POFQ this past summer. We did go over to POR to check it out, and were glad we picked FQ.
Have a great trip!

I've been looking at several moderates for a split stay with WL in October. I'd have to say that PORFQ seems to often pop up as a favorite. My only problem is I really dislike the whole Mardi Gras/Carnivale theme that seems everywhere in the pictures I've seen online. Is the quality of POR-RS about the same if you want a more low-key theme?

Thanks!

We have stayed at Riverside loads of times and always had a nice room. Some are recently renovated. I love the look of Riverside; it is lush and green and very beautiful. There are flowers and water everywhere. You can select a Bayou room (like Frontierland) or a more "upscale" Mansion. We have stayed in both. I personally love the more "woodsy" look of Riverside over the more linear look of POFQ. Polls I have read (Mousesavers.com, I think) rate Riverside a favorite Moderate. I think you'd enjoy it. :)

We like Rverside much better than POFQ. Mainly because of the pool. FQ has only one pool. We much prefer the quiet pools now that we have no little ones that like the slides. Also FQ has no sit down restaurant. I'm not a big fan of food courts and like the option.

We stayed at POR this past september and loved it!! We walked over to FQ and it was really nice too but we liked the atmosphere of POR better. All the quiet pools were geat and we loved walking the grounds and seeing all the beautiful landscaping.

i completely loved Riverside, but i'm betting that either of them will be nice for you! :earsgirl:
