We are booking POR in feb. and what to request a building. Don't mind paying extra for preferred. We would like to be close to main building and bus stop.

We prefer the mansions, and I request either Acadian House or Magnolia Terrace close to old man island bridge.

We've stayed in Buildings 16 and 18. Both are very close to the main building and to the parking lot (which is helpful if you have a car with you). They are both close to the quiet pool, too.

We stayed in 27 and found it to be very easy to get anywhere from there. We prefer ab.

Loved bldg 14....right behind the food court, and a very short walk to the main bus stop. In fact, we could see the buses coming and going through the trees.
But, there is a lot of foot traffic going by this bldg.
But, you can't get any closer to the main areas!!!

Stayed in 27 was very pleased, close to main building and west bus stop which was usually first stop from parks

I have stayed in all four of the mansions and slowly but surely, Acadian House has become my favorite building.

We just returned from staying at POR last week. We were in building 27 Alligator Bayou. We loved the location of our room. We were just a short walk to the food court and the main bus stop. We have stayed at POR many times and this was our favorite room location so far.

I guess the first thing to decide is which theme you want - Mansions or Alligator Bayou? We stayed in AB14 which is a preferred building and loved that it was less than a 1 minute walk to QS and bus stop as well as gift shop, etc. We also had a view of the Sasagulla River. While the theme is deep inside the bayous of old tin shacks, the room was recently renovated and typical of a Disney moderate. The mansions are anti-bellum South and look exactly like what you would find a Southern Plantation house to look like.

If you look on the resort map, you can see the locations of the buildings. The far end of Alligator Bayou is probably a 15 minute walk to QS, but has a bus stop near it. Depending on what Mansion you request, you might have a 5-10 minute walk across the bridge to QS, but you also have your own bus stop.

On our last trip we booked a standard view and got a room in building #16. Very close to main building -- only a short beautiful walk. :cool1:

We loved the Acadian House. It wasn't a far walk from the north depot, or lobby. It was kinda in the middle of both. The whole resort is beautiful so didn't mind the walks at all.

We stayed in building 38 in alligator bayou. Love it! It was a little bit of a walk to the cs and pool but we didnt mind at all because the grounds are so beautiful. When we go in June we are staying the royal rooms.

YES! I totally agree. :thumbsup2 Magnolia building is closest to the main building and pool. We stayed in Acadian and still loved the location. Sure Magnolia is closer, but we were very happy with Acadian as well. POR is our fave mod resort!

Then unless your youngest is 2 or under you'll need a room in AB. Andre has a resort map on the ist pg of his POR thread with lots of info.
