I have a choice to make!

For Jan 10 & 11, Port Orleans Resort or Hotel Royal Plaza deluxe tower room for two nights prior to our 7-day Disney Cruise. Prices are the same. We will hit one of the Disney parks on the 11th, then go on a 7-day Disney Cruise. After the cruise we will be staying 3 nights at Yacht Club.

We have two rooms on hold at PO but can't cjeck in until 8:00 PM - am I screwed for room choices at that late of check-in? I'm not worried about it at Royal Plaza as much as at PO.

I think the Royal Plaza is within waking distance to DTD. What about Port Orleans?

We loved the Port Orleans Riverside. We were at Disney for DH's convention, and then moved to POR for a quick vacation. It was a wonderful choice. Quiet, beautiful and relaxing. It's a lovely resort!

100% you got to go with POR. My reasoning is they are a WDW owned Resort where as the Royal Plaza is not. So you don't get all the benefits of a WDW Resort such as EMH, DME and etc. Plus POR has a lot better bus transportation.

Royal Plaza = fairly long walk including busy roads to Downtown Disney.

Unless I was saving a lot of $ by staying at Royal Plaza, this would be an absolute no brainer. If you want to go to DD, take the boat from PO!

There is nothing better than staying onsite at WDW. I vote for POR. We always stay at POFQ and love it, including the boat ride to DTD

Staying on property has more benefits than not staying on property. I would stay on property.
