Oh!! And has anyone seen Mama Becky or luv?
I haven't seen them since I've been back from WDW.

I haven't seen either one of them. Hopefully, they will check in soon. I miss them!

I was just thinking about them today too and wondering where they were.

I have good news! I survived the car repair shop with the three children in tow. They were remarkably well behaved too. Phew. And considering they told me it would be half an hour or so and it was an hour and a half, that is a true miracle! So, now we have nothing to do but pack tomorrow and stop the mail. Oh and take the kids to the grocery store for some little items while DH is sleeping. Tonight I have to hit the store for "road surprises."

Crapola, am I ever going to need this vacation! Good thing DH is prepped to do all the driving cause I am going to be sitting there like a zombie. I won't be driving on those mtn roads anyway and I might need a Valium. (I am just a wee tad afraid of heights. And having my children near high places is worse than just me near heights.)

Hi, gang!

Today was Ainslee's meet-the-teacher day for Kindergarten; tomorrow is Caitlin's for 4th grade. I took the morning off work so I could go; tomorrow I'm doing the same thing.

My pre-K class was not acting nice today at all! For the first time ever, I had to call a parent. I have about 7 kids that are VERY difficult. Today one boy was throwing a huge tantrum during naptime and he just does not stop. He can cry for 30 minutes or longer without stopping. He also screams and yells. He was so loud the other kids were all awake and it was very disruptive. This is something he does daily, but not at naptime until today. Yesterday his mom gave me all her numbers and told me to make sure I call her if he acts like that. So today I did. The mom came to the school and I thought she was going to take him home, but she took him out and spanked him (she told me afterward) and brought him back. He was nice the rest of the day. I've never had a group with this many difficult kids. Granted, before I was always teaching Kindergarten, so that could have something to do with it, since they were a year older than the Pre-K kids I have now. But my word, I've never had a group like this before! It's going to be a big challenge.

How's everyboday else doing?

Bonnie,
I've missed ya! Sorry your class is a little  . Give me some tips for a new preschooler and Mom. Zack starts next week and I want him to have a wonderful time, but I also don't want him to be an problem child and a reason for his teacher to need some major vacation time at the end of the year.

Julie,
Yipee! I always think that I deserve a special treat when I have to go to the car repair shop with the boys. Have I mentioned that I'm jealous of your trip- take me with you, please!

Good evening all!
What's going on about some evil thread issue? If it's too much for this thread, feel free to PM me and fill me in, someone!

Homework the first week?!! That's mean! I don't blame him for not wanting to do it. I hope he gets off to a good start this school year!

I was already complaining on another thread, but I hope they do the math testing soon or he's going to get disruptive soon. Hopefully they are just doing a quick review, but one thing they did this week (this is 1st grade) was see what happens to a number when you add "0" to it. Yesterday I asked Jake what happened when you add zero to a number and he answered me and then went on to tell me what happens when you multiply a number by zero. :rotfl: I think they need to give him more challenging work!

Snowy, it's the Ritalin thread.

I just wanted to say that I am very thankful for my :woohoo: .
That is all. :rolleyes1

What did they get you this time, Bomb?

Snowy, it's the Ritalin thread

Thanks T&C - methinks I will stay away from that one - I just left working in Special Ed. and went into the mainstream this year, and I hear enough debates on that professionally. How are you feeling, BTW?

Hallo, Froggy!

T&B--that is funny about Jake. Have I told you about our testing issue at the end of last year? I don't have to legally have DS tested until he is 7 but I like to do it just for my own peace of mind. The type of test I use is mainly oral and is administered by a trained tester. She comes to our house and I eavesdrop from the next room. During the math portion I could hear her talking but could not hear DS. I thought he must be pointing to pictures or the answers or whatever. Nope. Found out from him later that he considered it "baby math" because it was all pictures instead of real numbers so he refused to answer. "I AM 6, you know, Mom!" Needless to say, his math test scores were not too hot!!

Kate--I would take you with me, but the car is already going to be toooooooo full! I am not used to having to pack without being able to plan on a midweek laundry load. We usually stay in one place in a villa with W/D.

Snowy- I sent you a PM. How are you?
Julie- You are forgiven. But please bring me back a treat :mickeybar:.
T&B- Can I borrow Jake when I need to balance my checkbook?
Teva- Tell me one of your commando stories. I need some entertainment.
Briar- The countdown is coming close to the big move. How are you feeling about everything?
Froggy- Howdy. I'm so happy that you had such a great trip. Anything exciting happening in your neck of the woods?

Yeah, Snowy, you might want to stay away from that thread. I should have. I knew it was heated when I went to read it and I wasn't going to get riled up, but did, anyway. Oh, I feel like crap, to put it mildly. Had to take a second dose of my Rx migraine meds and it still hasn't knocked my headache out all the way. I'll go to bed soon and hopefully wake up with it gone. If not, I'm going for the perky and then I'll be happy like Shug. I was thinking about taking it tonight, but didn't know what it would do to me, mixed with my Maxalt. I wasn't really caring, but deep down didn't want to kill myself. :teeth:

DM3, funny about your son. I can see Jake copping an attitude. He was a piece of work tonight and we finally just put him to bed. I'm worried that he'll tell the teacher that he's not doing addition and that he likes multiplication and division better. :rotfl: Yes, I can see him calling it baby math, too.

red, you can borrow Jake anytime! :rotfl2:

How are you doing, Froggy and teva? I'm scared to find out what the BOMB has to say!

T&B- I just don't get it. I would never dream of voicing my totally off base opinion about something that I have no first hand experience about but maybe that's why my life is so boring. I'm so sorry that you're feeling like crap. Get some rest and feel better soon :grouphug: .

T&C, I get migraines too - so sorry - hang in there sweetie, my Daddy used to say that everything looks better in the morning, and he was right!

Froggy, you're awfully quiet and so is Briarmom - hmmmmmmmmmmm

redshoes, thanks for all the help

dm3, have a great trip!
