Hi yourself, w8! Just came back to the computer and realized that I had forgotten to sign out!
Hi BB - your lil boy sounds like the students I used to get called into classrooms for. I am on professional vacation this year - I am an aide in the mainstream - GO ME!

cantw8, I love your pictures! :teeth: They are just too good to tease you about. Hopefully you don't mind, as long as you know I do like them. :rotfl:

Merle, I thought of you tonight. My neighbor called me, asking if I still do afterschool daycare. She has two kids and is looking for care 3 afternoons a week. School starts tomorrow. :) And no, for the first time in many years, I'm not doing afterschool care this year. Too hard to take care of my own kids and get them where they need to go when I'm watching other kids. I thought about all your last minute calls. Can't be much more last minute. I'm assuming that she had other arrangements that fell through, but I didn't ask.

Hi, T&B! Thanks for thinking of me. Yes, work has been taking its toll. I have been exhausted! There is one boy in my class who throws huge tantrums; he throws chairs, wood blocks, wood puzzles, toys, everything. We spend time cleaning up and he'll go around knocking big plastic tubs full of little toys all over the floor! We have a few others who cry ALL the time. It is getting better, but oh my, that can wear on a person! But the good thing is that I have a great assistant and she really helps me a lot.

How are you doing? Has school started for you Marylanders yet?
Whoa! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

My DD13 starts her forst year in high school tomorrow. She's very nervous, and of course, so am I. I spent 2 hours in line at Staples today for last minute back-to-school stuff. I had no strength to make dinner so we went out to Uno's. My little one goes back next week.

LOL We went to 2 Staples stores and didn't buy anything. The one in Germantown had lines that went from the registers halfway to the back of the store, then turned and went halfway across the store. Jake and I looked at their backpacks and left. When my DH and I were in Rockville, their lines were not as bad, but they were out of what we needed (which wasn't much since I bought most everything last week). So we left without buying. It felt like Black Friday--a total madhouse. We did stop for sushi, which we brought home, so dinner was good. Jake's favorite sushi was the pickled radish--kind of funny for a 6yo.

Oh, good!
It's back to school for the staff today - two days this week and then back for real with the kids on Tuesday.........so my summer days of DISing are over :sad2: It will have to be a few minutes in the am with my coffee and then whatever I can snatch in the evenings. Are y'all gonna keep me updated?

We'll keep you in mind. Good luck with the kiddies this year.

Two boys down, one to go this morning. All are fine going to school (Jake is excited), but none ate much. It's funny to see what they wore. Ben wore a new guitar t-shirt. It's actually a neat shirt. Not that I'm into guitars, but it's him. Zach wore a Cincinnati Reds t-shirt that we got on vacation--that fits his image and Jake wore his new Redskins jersey, which is all him. :teeth: Too cute.

I wonder what Alyssa is wearing. I got an IM from her last night. Her classes start this morning and she has mixed feeling. Isn't this the reason she's in college...to go to classes? :rotfl: I had to laugh at her--it's all social to her and going to classes is only a side effect of the social stuff. :rotfl2:

I need to play with the dog. Our elderly dog didn't want to play with her, so now she's going after the cats, poor kitties.

Good morning! The tag fairy must be hanging out on this thread....

I guess I could be tagged worse things!

Or the TF is hanging out on Shug's thread. I think the TF is scared of this thread. :rotfl2: I like it, though, and could have been much more embarrassing, like my signature tag.

I have such a long list of stuff to get done around the house since the kids started school. So far have gone through a lot of papers on a counter (a counter that seems to attract papers and other assorted stuff). There's still work to do on the counter, but it looks better. I dusted, cleaned the poster room, vacuumed the foyer, ran the dishwasher, signed Jake up for soccer (glad/surprised that registration was still open) and now need to vacuum the dining room. Then I'll work on another counter that currently is home to a couple of big piles of papers. I just need to work on that daily and toss most everything. Then read a couple days of newspapers and figure out what furniture stores I want to visit this week. By then the kids will start getting home from school. They'll have a bunch of paperwork for me to fill out, being the first day of school.

Good Morning!
Well the birthday is over with much relief. DH took the boys shopping and let them have full rein of Target to pick out my gifts. The treasures were: A Coca-Cola pitcher and mug set from my 4 year old with the thought that Mom always needs mugs and she like Coke and "Bring it On 3, All or Nothing" from my 2 year old who has an unhealthy obcession with cheerleaders.
The first soccer game of the session was on Saturday and I sure got my running in. There are five boys on a team and three of them on the field a time. The coaches have to be very hands on due to the fact that the boys have no idea what the little white lines mean and run like a bunch of cattle on the loose. I had such good time. Our parents are great and the boys are super cute. We had one little boy who decided that the Gatorade that his Mom bought him was more important than the game and refused to play after his first sip. We had no scored goals (unless you count the three we shot into the other team's net) but the boys had a great time anyways and we are ready for next week.

I have seen worse tags. I actually think it's pretty darn cute.

I'm stumped. What's a good gift for Dh for our 5th anniversary? His only real hobby is refinishing furniture. He's just picked that up. He really doesn't need any clothes. He takes me to whatever restaurant I want whenever I want. He gave me a suggestion but as of our wedding day I don't have to do that anymore. It's in the contract ;)

OMG Katie that sounds too funny!!!! :rotfl:
Just do it Shug ;)

How about a gift card to Home Depot or Lowes? I don't know of any guy who doesn't like to get cards to man stores. And I know it's in your contract, but top it with the "suggestion" anyways. You'll have a happy dh!
