PMS in a Handbasket--Don't be afraid, just bring us food... Part 2a

Oh, man, do I ever need to steam clean around here - rugs and upholstery both.

My weekend was nice. I cleaned a little, shopped a little, ate out a couple of times, went to church, and then last night hubby and I went to see Lady in the Water. I saw it getting bashed in a thread here on the DIS, but we really liked it. M. Night has a much bigger role than the cameo he usually does in his films, and he was a highlight for me!

Sounsds like a nice weekend! I am not so much into the scary movies. How bad was it?

On the M.Night scary scale, it was much closer to The Village than it was to The Sixth Sense (in other words, not too bad). I am not a horror movie fan, but his movies are in a whole other category to me. There is no blood or gore involved, and they're not really what I think of as occult oriented either. However, that's not to say that there's not some scary moments that made me jump. They're just not the kind of scary that makes me afraid to be alone in the house at night later, or gives me bad dreams.

Good morning ladies. :sunny:

We've got a car in the shop, so I have to take DH to the train station at 6:00 each morning. Not pleasant. The mechanic said they won't even be able to get to our car until Wednesday.

Morning all! Hope you all had a nice weekend!

So what's everyone got on tap today?

I have to clean out the camper, list some ebay and start on the wedding invitations. I want to have those wrapped up by weeks end.

Usually though when I have a lot to do I end up on the computer all day. I am not a good self motivator sometimes.

Hey Ash! I'm trying to get caught up on everything. This thread moves so fast, and at times I feel invisible here. But you guys crack me up every time I open this thread!

Hi Steph! I hope I have never made you feel invisible. If so, I apologize. It was not intentional. :guilty:

I think we all have our times where we are feeling invisible. I sometimes feel like the biggest reject on the DIS.

Oh yeah...I also told my youngest I would take him bowling if we had a chance. I told him if the helped me get some of the things done we could go.

Where to start................

Ok, everybody who has not, at one time or another, felt like the biggest, most invisible loser on the DIS, raise your hand.

Anybody?

Anybody?

Bueller?

(Hi Steph, Hi BB, Hi Phors, Hi everybody  )

Start with the invitations, that will put you in a good mood :thumbsup2

Good morning!

We were at our friends house last night until almost midnight, which means the kids are going to be zombies today. I don't think that Zach has even woken up up and his camp starts in 20 minutes, but it's a few minutes up the street and he can get there whenever he's ready, so no big deal. Our friends had an exchange student this summer who is going back to Spain tomorrow, so they wanted to get people together as a send of. Nice kid and pretty brave to be away from home for a month at 14yo.

I need to slather Jake with sunscreen so he doesn't burn when he's at the pool later before I bring him to his camp.

Bb, I hope that you don't have to bring all the girls with you so early in the morning. That's way too early for me!

Hey LB, you didn't say hi to me--now I feel invisible! :teeth:

My boys like to go bowling a lot on the summer. Usually I get them to invite friends and then I can drop them off. Or as long as both of them are going I can drop them both off. At Bowl America there's a report card program where A's throughout the school year earn free summer games, so all we have to pay for is shoes. It's cheap entertainment.

Nope, the girls just stay home. My oldest is 12, so she can babysit and it gives me a little more freedom and I don't have to drag them out of their beds if they are asleep.

The problem is I don't know how to start them! LOL

I just looked in the box and they don't have the best instructions. LOL

Did everyone know that phorsenuf called Cinderella's castle a (wait, let me make sure I'm quoting her correctly) . . ."dump"?

That reminds me--we need to figure out Zach's Bar Mitzmah invites and I'm totally unmotivated. Something about my DH not being on full pay and his job not going well that doesn't make me in the mood to spend money. But it's not like we aren't going ahead with the plans--I'm just not motivated. I've got to change my attitude, though.

4's--when is the wedding?

If the castle is a dump, she has high standards! :rotfl:

What, that little shack down at the end of the street?

I believe she was referring to my house. It's Dh's castle but my dump to care for.

I tried finding the answer on the thread, but gave up...

Have we heard from Becky yet?

And Good Morning and happy Monday.

Well, ya know if you saw my house you'd know why I called the castle a dump! Oh wait...I'm confusing my place with the messy house thread..... :lmao:

The wedding is September 30th. I have been trying very hard not to stress out getting everything done. We are trying to do something very nice but on limited funds. So far we are doing pretty good actually.

I printed up the save the date cards myself and they came out real nice.

I'm doing the invitation myself as well. I got a great deal on them so we are able to do very nice invitations for a song. Thankfully my DH had bought me a great printer not to long ago that does a very nice job.

I do have an etiquette question for you all. The wedding is small, about 70 people. Pretty much everyone that is coming is my side of the family, about 12 of my son's friends, a few friends of the family and Anna's dad and friend from Germany.
While it's going to be a nice ceremony and all we aren't throwing a huge formal elaborate wedding. (That will be in May in Germany for her side of the family).
Anyway, they say you shouldn't print the invitation envelopes. You should do them by hand. But my family is not going to care if its done in a nice font on the printer. It would probably look nicer than my own handwriting.
What do you think? Should I just go with the printer?

I've gotten a few printed and I wasn't the least bit offended. I don't think it's a huge deal. It's the thank you's that should be hand written at all costs.
