Everyone have a great weekend. I'm taking DD8 to watch the state gymnastics meet in Fayetteville. She still can't compete post-surgery, but she earned it and she's going!

Okay, my sister drives me nuts sometimes--THIS is one of them.

My stepfather (her father) is in the hospital. He could have been released today but they are keeping him at least one more night--why?

Because our mother has the horrible stomach bug that has been going around. BAD. Both ends. She can't leave the bathroom. But she still had to go out and buy her own drinks and stuff today. She lives about 30 minutes from town. So she is at home with my mentally challenged brother. He can not take care of himself. So there was no one to pick up my step dad, much less take care of him.

So, at this point they are looking at possibly hiring a car service they have used in the past to bring my step dad home from the hospital to their house in the boonies. At that point it will be 3 people alone in the house who are not capable of taking care of themselves.

My sister lives 3 hours away. She has a very good professional job and could take a few days off if she just made the effort. But no, she doesn't want to risk getting sick by being around them and besides, it is too much hassle to take off of work. Instead she would rather leave her father in the hospital and let her mom and brother fend for themselves.

I HATE, HATE, HATE my stepdad, but even I would go and drive 3 hours to pick the guy up at the hospital and take him home if I needed to.

Hello all, back from dinner! I was actually making crab legs when my friend asked me to go out with her and her two oldest. We went to Applebees and although the food was good the service sucked big time.

Woman took our order then we didn't see her again for 30 minutes. Three of us ordered their triple appetizer special and her oldest son ordered a burger and onion soup. The onion soup was brought out by someone else and way after he was done our waitress finally showed up with the drinks. After the food was brought out she never stopped by to ask how the food was, had to ask for refills on drinks. She spent a lot of time at the table behind us and at one point when we were trying to get her attention about the drinks she was talking to a man from that table about cell phones. She wanted his # because she wanted a new cell.

My friend paid for the majority of our dinner with GC's she got for her birthday. There was $29 leftover, she based the tip on that and gave the woman a $5 tip. I told her she needed to call tomorrow and talk to the manager about it too.

They had this really yummy dessert. It was in a shot glass, a big one, Angel wouldn't have been able to handle it. Lara on the other hand....

They were $2.49 or 3 for $5.99. My friend and I were the only ones having dessert but we went ahead and got the third one anyway, figured we could share it. Well her oldest takes it and literally ate it in one bite!

I'm upset with Alana too. She's had her new glasses 2 days and already broke the side piece. Actually broke it yesterday. I sure wish I understood her mind sometimes. She says, 'she didn't mean too. She didn't think it would break.' Yes, she really is 13 1/2.

Well I called my sister and laid a guilt trip on her. She is going to think about it. She is mostly concerned that she just doesn't want to catch Mom's virus. But my sister is a pharmacist in a HOSPITAL! She is around sick people all the time! She goes to the floors to deliver meds and supervise administration in emergencies. I told her to go by the hospital and pick up some gloves, masks and gowns and just suit up before going in the house!

I just don't get it. Am I wrong here?

I have to admit without seeming like I am whining that I am real hurt that no one from my family or Jaws, called to acknowledge today. I am the reminded in my family, but gee you would think they could remember once in a while.

Well, in this situation the equivlant of a million miles! She is in Illinois. So about a 16-20 hour car ride or a plane trip to an airport 3 hours away! I feel awful that I can't help, even if I was able to walk.
