Good advice. Also things that you can layer. I strip down as the day goes on and then add back on as it gets to be evening.

I took a shower and feel all clean now. I still want to curl up and take a nap, but I think it's the weather. Thankfully Zach's game was cancelled for tonight because of the rain, so that's very good news (was an 8PM game)...to chilly for baseball that late at night.

Maybe I'll go run some errands later to avoid husband conflicts. He can be mad about me not being home, but at least he can't gripe to me.

I think I'll go turn on the fireplace. Before you pervs get any idea, we have a gas fireplace.

OMG, Linda called a bit ago. They can't get my Mom off the respirator. Her right lung is basically gone and the left lung has pneumonia in it and has infiltrations. (at least I think that's what she said) We need to get down there ASAP and make some decisions. I'm not even sure what is going on but Linda said she can't do it herself. She was really falling apart when I was talking to her. I just can't believe this is happening.

Caro I'll be thinking of you and your mom. Sometimes things sound far worse than they really are. I know this from experience. Please don't take this as being callous and unfeeling, but sometimes, things also move much more quickly than we'd like. Even if it's not as bad as it sounds, please, get your plans laid out NOW. In the middle of grief and emotional turmoil is the worst possible time for everyone. Once that's done you can put all your energy into doing everything you can to keep her with you as long as possible but don't let another day go by without having a solid plan!! My sister, my daddy and I went first to the hospital to make sure all the medical directives were properly filled out and copies sent to all my Drs. Then we went to a lawyer and did a very basic will. Lastly, we went to the funeral home, planned my service and paid for it. Bruce had to be dragged kicking and screaming every step of the way. If/when it happens he'll be a quivering, devestated mess because he refuses to prepare himself. I can't imagine how hard it would be on my entire family to deal with him and all the plans at the same time.
