THREEP! How are you? I wanted to ask you how the WDW crowds are toward the end of August. Are they still pretty bad? Or are they starting to die down because it's close to the school year. I'll be there Aug 25th!

Hey Bon! I avoid the parks like the plague at the end of August. Not just because they're crowded, but because it is SO FRIGGIN HOT. The 25th is the day after my birthday! How long are you gonna be here?

I am burned out on kids. I've been involved with kids since I was 10. I 1/2 raised my sister. Anyway I care for 2 kiddos. A 3yr old girl who is an absolute angel and a 5yr old boy who is a heathen!! If it was just the girl it would be heaven! Anyway I just work next Tues and Friday and I am done. It is a part time summer nanny position. It works out perfect as DH and I will soon be moving to FL.

Ugh. I love my kids, but I don't know about caring for other people's little ones all day. I do better with older kids.

I'm taking DS and his friend to Underdog today..and probably to lunch too. What is everyone else up to today?

We're doing a combo birthday celebration at my mom's for my DD and my nephew. He turned 3 on Friday, and Molly turns 3 tomorrow. We're gonna grill and stuff. At my mom's. And open some presents. At my mom's. And have cupcakes. At my mom's. Ugh. If I could send my mom away, it would be much more fun.

Speaking of my plans for the day, I better go make the damn pasta salad or we're not going to have anything but burgers and dawgs. See you guys in a while.

Hi Bon I'll let you know about the movie. Splashdown was fun...DS loved all the slides...it started getting a bit crowded though in the afternoon. I can't believe we lived here this whole time and we had never gone there before.

I loved the slides too! Especially that inner tube one. I rode that thing over and over! It was really crowded last Tues when we went too, and we went after 3:00 so we could get the cheap rate. But when we went in June it wasn't crowded at all.

Hi Bon. No way would I do this again! I am just tired of dealing with spoiled kids. Once we move to FL I will not do anything involving kids. I will work at Walmart before that. Anyway I'm good as it's almost over!

So I'm guessing you wouldn't want to teach preschool then, huh? I get really burnt out on kids too. That's why I'm only working part time this summer. I need a BREAK from teaching.

Do you ever get to go with your Dh to bury the dolphins?

Just gonna be there for 3 days/2 nights. Aug 25 - 27th. It's a ladies only trip with a couple other DISers. Yeah, I'm worried about the heat too. But, considering I have not been to WDW in 4 1/2 years, I'd rather do August than never!

I was an asst teacher for preschool one year and hated it! The kids were good when the main teacher was there but horrid when she called in. And she did that a lot.

I could go with him to bury dolphins if I wanted. I went quite a bit in stranding season of 2005. I burned myself out and only go occasionally now. I like working with the live ones better. In the last 2 weeks we had 2 come in live. Unfortunely they died in transport. I can't wait for FL. I plan to volunteer at the aquarium where I can do the same stuff I do here plus do stuff with the live captive dolphins they have there.

our pool has been a headache this year too angel. ours is above ground, and has taken way less clorine than normal over all, but have had to use way more algecide and clean out the gunk at least twice a month this year. and most likely are going to have to replacethe sand filter and multiport valves this winter, as the multi port has started leaking through and if we dont watch iut, drains the pool down below the filter canister.

Here in Texas all you have to do is go to a training day and then you are free to volunteer in any aspect that you want to. Only the Critical Care Team who does rescues is off limits. In FL all the website says is that you fill out an application and go to an orientation and then you can volunteer. I'm not sure about the rescue and rehab team but assume they will take me on as I have the experience. Most aquariums have volunteer positions, you just have to check them out.

Thanks for the grandbaby comments. They are cute but then I son't have to keep them.


Our pool was 'chlorine locked'. Chlorine levels were way too high. It became cloudy, then cloudier and cloudier. Tried all kinds of stuff, kept going back to the pool place. Nothing was helping. It started getting green crap in it.

Finally on Friday, my daughter happened to be talking to me on the phone at her work and a co-worker overheard her talking about it. He told us to back wash the pool as low as it could go without burning up the filter and then fill it back up. He said to keep doing it and it would be clear in 24 hours. We did it about 6 times on friday and we were swimming in it the next day (yesterday)! I love that man.
