Great News ~ we just cleared our final waitlist for HH 4th of July! However, we already made alternate plans (never really though we had a snowball’s chance @ HH) anyway you all will be the deciding factor will it be really just way to crowded at the resort for our family to enjoy family myself, DH, my mom, DD 3 & DD 11mos.)? I am already there ~ this will be our first trip & I can’t wait for the beach, pool & bike rides!!! PlZ Help us with any & lots of input?!
P.S. Alternate Plans ~ 10hr drive each way to in-laws, should we really need to ask, just kidding they are really great!

Thanks, you made me laugh out loud!
Truly, I wish they could come too! However my sis-in-law is due & they will be down for the baby real soon & just don't have the extra time. Thanks Again!!

It looks like you'd much rather go to HHI than to your alternate plan (in-laws?). If it were me, I would do what I really want to do.

We moved from FL to NC almost 8 years ago. We've taken alot of flak from our parents about not coming more often over the years since. We can finally afford a yearly trip to WDW, and that's what we like to do. Once a year, we go see our families. We would go through alot of guilt over not seeing our parents for both vacations.

We finally realized that this is our vacation. We work hard. We earn money. We're grown-ups. We're going to have fun and relax for one of our vacations at least.

As for HHI crowds, WDW would be crowded, too. We've been to HHI at busy and slow times. It's still just as relaxing, and you can still do everything you want. Vacation is what you make it.

Whatever you decide to do, have a magical time.

Even though the resort will be at capacity, there are lots of activites planned over the 4th that allow everyone to participate. Because HH is such a small resort, even at capacity, you aren't likely to have the sense that it's crowded.

There will be crowds across the marina in Shelter Cove- so make any dinner plans ahead of time, but there are ample places to dine regardless.

There has usually been a dinner barbeque, games planned at the pool and a special fireworks display in the evening- set off from a barge anchored in the water behind the resort.

There are fireworks each Tuesday evening all summer and the display on the 4th has usually been a little extra.

I wouldn't give a second thought what to do- have a great trip! :)

:jumping3::jumping3: You are kidding right? You have to be! You have to go!!!!!!

That pretty much says it all! We have been to HH several times over the 4th of July. Last year, we couldn't go. :( I can't begin to tell you how much I missed it! I told DH that we are NEVER again going to spend the 4th at any place OTHER than HH if *I* can help it!!

Guess where we're leaving for on Friday? ;) And we're staying through the 4th!!

Don't worry about crowds. The resort was at capacity when we were there a week ago and it seemed like we hardly ever ran into anybody.
