Plus Sized Guests

Hello All,

I am planning on visiting Disney in Nov and need some advise. I am a very plus sized guest, over 400 lbs, and I dont know which property is the best to stay at. I will be traveling with my GF (also a BBW) and her 15 yr old daughter. I have trouble walking or standing for long peroids of time and didnt know if anyone could suggest the perfect property to stay at as well as tips for the parks.

I havent been to Disney since I was 15 so I dont know alot about the parks now. This is also the first vacation as an adult so any help would be appreaciated.

Part of what is the 'best resort' for you depends on what you are looking for, so asking yourself some questions will help narrow things down:
- what parks will you be going to most?
- what price point are you looking for (value, moderate, deluxe resort)
- are you planning on staying in one room together or you in one room and them in another?
- is it important to you to have a variety of restaurants at your resort?

Since you already know you have problems with walking and standing for long periods of time, I'd suggest you look into renting an ECV (power mobility scooter). There is a lot of information about ECVs in the disABILITIES FAQs thread (located near the top of this board).

For information about plus size guests at the parks, you can search the DIS Boards (a lot of people refer to themselves as 'Pooh sized', so you may find quite a bit by using that term to search with. Also allearsnet.com has a good section on advice for plus sized guests. The Passporter Book for Your Special Needs that is mentioned on that page has a lot of good information useful for plus sized guests. allearsnet used to have more specific information on their site, but much of that is now in the book.
