I purchased the Plus Dining Plan and for me, my wife, 4 kids. Now this is our first time to DW and we're arriving on 11-18-14 and leaving 11-23-14. I understand that each person get's 1 quick service meal, 1 table service meal, 1 snack, and 1 refillable mug. When I was told about this I was told that we would get this each day we are there, from check-in to check-out. Anyway, we just got our Disney book with our info on it. I was looking at the dining plan and says the following:

So, you'll start out with:

15 Quick Service Child Meals
15 Quick Service Adult Meals
15 Table Service Child Meals
15 Table Service Adult Meals
30 Snacks
6 Refillable Mugs

Well when I add that up it only comes out to d days, whereas from check-in to check-out is 6 days. Did I misunderstand? Also, what does it mean when it says "So, you'll start out with?" Shouldn't that just say "So you'll have?"

Also, with this book it says in each of the 4 major parks "...must-dos we picked just for you" with some attractions with the FP+ sign, does that mean those were already picked for me as a FP because I picked a few different things and did notice anything was picked out already for us?

Any thoughts???

Mike

You receive credits based on how many nights you stay, not how many days.

You are staying 5 nights, so you will receive 5 of each type of credit per person. If the children are under 10 they have child meal credits. It looks as if you have one child 10 or over and the other 3 children are under 10.

However, you do receive all of the credits as soon as you check in, and they are usable until midnight after you have checked out. that is exactly what you will start out with, because it is entirely up to you how to use the credits once you have received them.

And no, they do not automatically book FPs for you. They are just suggesting them.

Ok...that's what I thought. I booked this through Small Wonders and the person told me that it was from the 18-23 but the way she made it sound like was it was the # of days we are there not the # of nights. Ok, thanks!!!

If you haven't already you should book your table service meals as soon as possible. If you can't get what you want, make a reservation at your second or third choice or for off times and keep trying. Check out the cancellation thread: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3278305

The parks will be busy and it is possible (likely) that the table service restaurants will not take walk ups. When you get what you want cancel the other reservations. I have seen angry people in the parks that were sold a dining plan and couldn't find a place to use it.

You can also book your FP+ now that will give you 3 fast passes for everyone in your party for each day of your park admission:
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3326057

I usually start making plans by looking at the crowd calendar and determining what parks I will be in:
http://**************.net/disney-crowd-calendar/
Then I make my dining either in that park or if nothing I want is available, I look in the hotels around the park I'm in. Same with fast passes.

I hope you have a great trip.

you were miss informed.
the dining plan is for each NIGHT you stay.
you are staying 5 nights.
its adds up correctly.

you start out with those amounts.
you'll see on your receipt how much you have left after you purchase a meal/snack with your dining plan credits.

no fastpasses are not already selected for you.
those were just suggestions.

Thanks for all the tips and info...this is really overwhelming!!! I can see how easily obsessed someone can be by checking and checking and checking...for reservations. I've been trying to get BOG and CRT for 6 for a week now but no luck...got the Garden Grove but I guess they don't accept the dining plan.

I'd drop the plan. You won't get any decent ADRs at this point

If you book signature experiences and do not want to spend that time in the parks, you can be OK (they take 2-3 hours each).

Otherwise - I would also drop the plan and eat where you want, paying out of pocket. Make a few reservations in Epcot ASAP with a park hopper ticket. Look at Downtown Disney for meals (Splitsville). Then quick service the rest. I think you would find that between finding the reservations you want at the times you want AND consuming all that food (and snacks) your vacation won't revolve around Disney but around that meal plan instead.

And I'm saying that as someone who is going with Deluxe Dining at Christmas. But it is not our first trip.

No way would I pay for deluxe dining at this point.

You can try to get a Fast Pass to BOG for lunch if you don't have luck with dinner. That will count as a quick service not a table service. You can pre-order food or order at the kiosk, then find a table and they will bring your food to the table. The Beast is not there for lunch however you will get to see the inside of the castle.

Fast Passes can be booked anywhere from 30 -27 days prior to your arrival date and these FPs do not count towards the 3 you can book in advance.

Here is the link. You will need to enter the long numeric reservation # (if you click on make a payment on the WDW site that number will be in the URL):

I'm a little confused now about Fast Passes. I thought we were allowed 3 per day and once those are used we can set up 3 more for that day and so on and so on? Now what is this thing with the Fast Pass that I can set up for BOG lunch without it counting against the 3 we set up?

The BOG FP+ is totally separate from the other fastpasses. It does not count against your FP+ selections. In fact the BOG FP+ is not made on MDE account, it is a different website.
