I have a brand new garbage disposal in my new kitchen. It's only been in for a few weeks. Every once in a while, if you run the water and then turn it on, it sucks the water down and then when you turn it off it spits it back up. It eventually runs down the drain but this doesn't seem normal. I really haven't used it much because we have 2 sinks and I use the other one in the pantry more, so I doubt there is any kind of clog. Any ideas? Should I call the plumber? :confused3

not really sure what the problem could be from, but just this week we had to have a plumber (DH's cousin) come over because everytime the dishwasher would run or when we were hand washing dishes, the sink would fill up. When we turned on the disposal, the water would go down, but then fill up again once we resumed washing dishes. There was a massive clog way down in the pipes and he had to cut away the cast iron pipes to get at it. He told me to make sure I run lots of water when I run the disposal to prevent it happening again
