Plug-ins in the park?

Hello DISrs. I'm hoping to use my phone to track our itinerary on our upcoming trip, but my particular phone has a serious battery issue. I don't think it will last a day. Can anyone tell me if there is anyplace in the parks where I could plug in a charger? I am pretty sure there isn't, but it can't hurt to ask. ;) Thanks.

My DH's scooter had battery problems last trip, so I'm familiar with this. There is a plug at City Hall, most bathrooms (but not in Toontown) have outlets, and we found one live outlet in the shrubbery along the wide walkway by the Rivers of America. As far as we know, none of the outlets in the shrubbery area of Fantasyland is live, nor is the outlet in Toontown by Mickey's house.

I don't have any info on where to plug-in in the park, hopefully someone else can chime in on that, but have you thought about getting an external battery pack? I just got one that's roughly the size of a chunkier cellphone, and it'll recharge multiple kinds of cells, tablets, handheld gaming devices, etc. about as fast as a wall charger will, but you don't have to stand there by an outlet and wait. :) I got tired of my iphone running out of juice.

There are also a couple outlets in NO Square, but since they have expanded the shops into the courtyards, they may be plugging the registers into them. Also at DCA near the stage in Hollywood Backlot there are outlets on the pillars.

When we were there last November my camera battery ran low and I brought it to the camera shop on Main Street. They took my battery and charger and gave me a claim ticket. I came back an hour later to pick them up all charged up and ready to go!

Last November there was no charge ($) to use this service.

Have Fun!!

Wow...thanks for all the responses! I am making a list of the suggested locations, and amelie811, I am interested in the idea of an external charger. I'll look into that as well.

:disrocks:

I've seen people sitting outside Pizza Port at the tables there by the front door charging their phones a couple of times. There's an outlet right there, convenient if you're eating lunch or dinner there anyway :)

In addition to the ones listed - Outside of The Showcase on Main St is a bench, and beside the bench is an outlet. There are several in the walkway off Main ST, to the lockers.

At the exit to Space Mountain, past the bathrooms there is an outlet just before the "Cast Members Only" sign.

Across from the Big Thunder exit are benches. If you look in the bushes, you will find an outlet.

Downstairs at Hungry Bear at the pay phones, there is an outlet.

There are a bunch more, but I can't remember the rest.

We go every year for NYE and found there is a plug inside the Golden Horseshoe. It is located upstairs , straight in front of the stairs. There is a long couch that is wonderful to stretch out on and wait for your charger to charge!

There's outlets by the phones located near the frontierland train station. I believe there are some just outside splash mountain as well.

Help me understand. how important is your trip to keep up on it so tightly? :confused3

If your phone doesn't hold a charge long you wouldn't have to be doing much for it to lose power in less than a day. I take and send a lot of pics of the kids having fun to my extended family when we go to DLR. My sis always wants a play by play of where we are and what we are doing, lol. Also, although I don't have a phone capable of it, I'm sure most people are using wait time apps a lot.

DH and I keep extra charged batteries as a backup. Just a thought. ;)

Even if I didn't want to use the touring plan on my phone (which I am hoping to do), my phone loses its charge with normal use in less than a day. I don't have an extra battery, although I am thinking about getting one. Even if I leave it in standby and don't use it, it will run out of battery in about eight hours...these phones constantly update and have background apps running at all times. Even using an app killer only alleviates some of the issue. Hence the search for outlets...and an extra thanks for all the suggestions! :goodvibes
