Can someone please tell me exactly how "The Silver Plan" dream maker package works?

And, is it worth the extra money?

Thanks!

Is it worth it? The general consensus seems to be it is if you want to eat out a lot at sit down restaurants and you want to do extra activities like Cirque du Soleil, etc.

This is the best description I have found of the Silver plan:

http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/lpt/dmSilver.asp

DH & I used this last year and LOVED it.... really more for the convenience of having everything (most everything) prepaid. I couldn't begin to tell you if we "evened out" but the conveniece made it worth it. We are going Silver again later this year.

We did the plan last year. We loved it and will use it again in 2004. We were eating $110-$120 dinners at places like Hollywood Brown Derby,Le Cellier, Rain Forest Cafe and went to see LaNouba. We got the plan with a discounted code rate. So we were paying 33.00 per point. Two of us eating dinner at $100+ and actually only paying $66 was great. And I know we maked out good on the La Nouba tickets and it was a great show. And we also did a spa treatment at the GF. If we hadn't gotten the silver plan we would never eaten or done some of the things we did. But you have to plan.

DH and I also used the Silver Plan (it was called Discovery Magic) in the past... we love it! Like previous posters mentioned- I couldn't begin to tell you if we evened out, paid extra, whatever.

Just the convenience of being able to have most everything pre-paid was wonderful. We enjoyed eating sit down meals and not having to do fast food too often. We also chose the spa treatments, parasailing, and La Nouba for some of our features.

It made the trip wonderfully relaxed. We didn't have to worry about the credit card bill when we got home

Here is some Silver Plan info that is posted right here on the Dis website: click here for "Disney’s Silver Plan & Bronze Plan Vacation Packages (2003)" thread.

If you are going to plan a very active vacation, then definitely consider one of Disney's package plans. What I have found when my family has done the Grand Plan is that we probably didn't save any money, however, we loved the convenience of being on the plan. The plan's payment was due way before we arrived, and thus the money aspect of what to do and not do was already out of our minds.

You need to sit down and determine what sort of vacation experience you want, and then pull out a calculator just to make sure that if you chose a package, you won't be completely throwing your money away. Even though we have Grand Planned twice, we have had way more many pay-as-we-go vacations.
