We stayed at the Polynesian, LVC, just last month. I think everyone's version of "is it worth it", can be very different. For me/us, it was MORE than worth it for the convenience of the location of the Hawaii building. Then on top of that, the view we had from our room and balcony were breathtaking! Unbelievably outstanding! (See my pictures on my web site!). I had imagined, before the trip, a wonderful view, but the reality even topped my expectations, and that was a surprise in and of itself!

I was blown away by the view from our room (#3517).
In addition, we had the pre-planning concierge staff handle a few things for us, besides the usual restaurant reservations. I asked them to get the gold Mickey ears with our names embroidered on them, and they did. I asked about having a small wedding cake delivered to our table at 'Ohana on the night of our anniversary (this was a special cake I ordered through the Wedding Cake department of the Grand Floridian Bakery, not a cake made at the Polynesian), and they handled this perfectly for me!
I also liked having beverages available during the day and evening. I liked being able to grab a quick breakfast in the morning. We didn't make it to all of the evening offerings, and we didn't make it to the any of the dessert and cordial offerings, but it was good to know they were there for us, and our DSs. We did have some of the cookies, soda, and other snacks during the day
It was was worth it to have a nice, relaxing, with snacks, to stay in while waiting for our limo to pick us up on our last afternoon
