ATF Disrupts Skinhead Plot To Kill Obama

WASHINGTON (AP) ― Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree, the ATF said Monday.

In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

The men also sought to go on a national killing spree, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press.

"They said that would be their last, final act - that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying."

Thank God this was disrupted. For anyone who didn't open the link a black school was to be targeted and more then 80 killed, some beheaded. Though clearly mentally ill, these people WERE armed!
Obama was to be the final victim..The number reflects something in the White Supremist Groups doctrine.

The worst thing - there are more people out there who really think this way. These guys are just the tip of the ice berg.

I once dated a white supremacist - not knowing that's what he was. Once I found out - it was SCARY to think of what those groups believe. And what they are willing to carry out.

I don't know whether the Bradley effect is real or not, but some McCain volunteers I know in this battleground state have told me that an appalling number of people are calling or showing up at McCain offices saying that they are supporting McCain because they don't want to vote for a black. (Only they mostly are not that polite about the way that they express it.)

Sad as it is, I suspect that this is only the beginning. This bunch are obviously idiots with delusions of grandeur who brought themselves down by trying to do something too big -- I'm afraid that the next person to try it won't be so stupid. The changes since '63 notwithstanding, Presidents are still all too vulnerable.

I do not think anyone hasn't worried about OB being black. I think race has been a factor all along and have always said so because of hate groups. However, that being said, most white republicans aren't voting for him because of other issues--not because of his race. THAT is what people have been defending here on this board--not that his race desn't make this very, very dangerous for him. I think we should all be able to agree on that.

Race isn't an issue for anyone who has an ounce of moral fiber.

I respect the Obama's for pushing forward.... I'm not sure I could do the same if I were in Mrs. Obama's shoes..... looking at those 2 gorgeous girls and worrying about the next skinhead freak coming along.
