As part of the Disney Springs expansion the Pleasure Island bus stop will be closing to make way for the new bus transportation construction and a new single location in 2016

Starting around June 11 2014, only the Marketplace bus stop will be available, and there will be revised traffic patterns for the Walt Disney World busses around that area.

That may actually be a good thing. It's taken half an hour just to get through all the bus stops in the past which is kind of irritating when you're tired ;) having just the one depot is a good idea, although I bet it will be crazy busy...

And for those using their cars, inbound access through entrance 1 at the Marketplace is now closed, so you now need to enter through entrance 2 and either park there or drive on over to the Marketplace parking lot as entrance 1 will still be in use as an exit.

Also from 11th June anyone going to Typhoon Lagoon after 2pm will only be able to catch a bus there from Epcot. Also if you leave Typhoon Lagoon after 2pm you will get dropped off at Epcot instead of your resort.
Before 2pm, you can catch a bus there from your resort and get dropped back at your resort.

This has made me consider changing our TL day to another BB day. It's actually a hassle IMO

Yea luckily I have TL scheduled for a morning and we were hoping to leave by 1.30, so I'll have to make sure we stick to it! It would be a pain to get to Epcot and then have to transfer to another bus just to get back to your resort.

That should work and give you a bit of leeway for getting out of the park. Water parks are tricky for us. While we find a full day is excessive, a half day usually runs until 2.30. At least we are aware of the change in advance.

It is funny how they make these changes right before the summer season, rather than in a slower time. Have they done a trial already on it perhaps and I missed it?

I know, hope we don't feel too rushed!
Not as far as I'm aware, I just read this link:

I've always found getting a bus to/from Downtown Disney a real nightmare.

That is the truth!

I didn't really understand the DTD part, can u explain it to me lol? How will it be easier?

I don't know that it will be easier but hopefully it will be more efficient. Buses to and from DTD are not nearly as frequent as those to the parks and often serve more than one resort, meaning multiple stops. I haven't read enough about the changes in detail to have noted exactly what the benefits should be so my reaction is hopeful more than anything else. We have waited in excess of an hour for a bus on more than one occasion getting back to our resort from there late at night. Staying at the Port Orleans resorts, SSR and OKW you have the advantage of the boat service which is far more frequent and much quicker. The drawback is that the boats don't operate during storms and they run the last ferries around 11 pm so if you stay later, you have to resign yourself to buses.

back in november, Wilderness Lodge to POR, after an Artist Point dinner.

when we arrived at DTD (marketplace) we saw a POR bus coming, it stopped, driver told us he didn't pickup anyone, and another bus was right behind.
15 minutes later a POR bus pulled up, and the driver also told us he was reassigned and didn't pick passengers up. We asked a transportation CM who was there, and she said the bus would come momentarily. By that time, the boats to POR had stopped operating, and a third bus came, and still no joy.

A POR bus eventually picked us up, and we reached POR's South Depot over 90 minutes after we boarded the bus at WL.

I swore my wife that, next time, we'd take the car.

Ah I see! Well hopefully they will be more efficient.
