Thinking about going to YC. Tell me everything .

We just returned from our honeymoon and stayed at YC concierge from 10/6-10/10. It was FABULOUS!!!!
The concierge staff knew who we were when we checked in and they were very friendly and attentive our whole trip. Our room was a water view room overlooking SAB and Crescent Lake-we could see Illuminations from our balcony. Mousekeeping came in the morning to clean our room and then in the evening for turn down service. They did a GREAT job. I also loved that we had bathrobes in the room to wear . The food offerings were good, but I wouldn't count on this to be your only meals for the trip. Here's the rundown (to the best of my memory):
Breakfast-cold cereal, instant oatmeal, fresh fruit, many donuts, mini-muffins, coffeecake, bagels and bread for toasting. Coffee, tea, juice, milk, water
Snacks-vegetables and dip, fresh fruit, popcorn, pretzels, chips and salsa, soybeans, PB&J
Dinner-Mac n cheese, different pasta dish each night, hummus and pita bread, pizza bread, fresh fruit, PB&J, crackers and cubed cheeses

Evening-Various wines and cordials, cookies, various desserts that were very yummy!

The lounge was not that crowded, but we did notice increasing crowds due to the press event at Epcot. They never ran out of food, though.
The lounge itself has a nautical theme with dark cherry wood furnishings and dark blue colors throughout.
I hope this helps with your decision-it truly is a great place to stay.

We were in room 5227-we had a king bed, non-smoking room.

We had a ladies only, pamper-ourselves stay at Yacht Club Concierge in August. The CMs and Mousekeepers were terrific. The CMs managed to get us last minute dinner reservations (not character meals) at the dinner hour and the Mousekeepers made a dog, dolls, rabbits, birds and ducks for us from towels! We do tip Mousekeeping, although not excessively, as we are very neat and tend to live out of our suitcases. They don't have to pick up behind us to do their jobs!

The lounge food is very good, although a bit heavy on carbohydrates. We were on vacation, so we indulged, anyway! Continental breakfast begins about 7 am and ends at 9:30 or 10 am. Midday snacks are from about 11 or 11:30 am until 1 or 1:30 pm. Afternoon tea is about 2 pm until 4 pm, with evening wine and cheese (mac & cheese service for the little ones) from 5 pm until 7 pm. Evening cordials and desserts complete the day from 8 pm until 10 pm. I neglected to keep the card with the times .

WDW transportation is very convenient. The bus stop is just beyond the porte cochere at the front of the resort, and the pier for the launch to Disney-MGM and EPCOT is a short walk from the rear porch of the resort.

We had a garden view, non-smoking room, which was next to the concierge lounge (I needed to be fairly close to the elevators due to a leg injury that was healing very slowly), The proximity to the lounge initially was a concern as Leu, my best friend from childhood, is a very light sleeper. No worries! The rooms are well sound-proofed. We heard only the occasional squeal from an excited toddler, and that just made us smile!

I'll be returning to YC Concierge solo in December following a business trip. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to experience the holiday magic!

Love YC!
We do not stay on Concierge Floor (not enough water view rooms) but have done YC on Grand Plan and had Concierge Access and amenities. People were great, rooms were great, view was great (watched fireworks every night from balcony!)
Also, quieter than BWI if you have kids.
We keep considering another resort, but always end up at YC.
Just booked Halloween 2004 last week!

What is the "Grand Plan" and What rooms have you stayed in that you can see the fireworks?

Grand Plan was what is now Platinum Plan. I guess it could be described as the ALL "all inclusive" plan. If you go to the Disney Reservation site, you can view all the details on all the Plans.
SHHH! We have stayed in room 3063 our last two trips and will be requesting the same room again next October. Or we may try 3065 which is the very end corner room next door. These rooms are at the end of the hallway in one of the far hallways at YC and they are near an elevator/stairs which go down to both the laundry and a back door that leads out by the YC Marina.
I think you could view the Fireworks from any room in that hallway. Your best bet is to look at the YC Floor Plans. They used to be on this site somewhere, but I haven't searched them out in a while.
