Update: I got off the plane in Orlando and found an email that instacart had cancelled my Publix order. No missed call or text, so i don't know why they cancelled. I ended up getting a lyft from the hotel to go to publix. I was not a happy camper.

I ended up needing a non-food item later in the trip. I tried a Target delivery to the hotel and it worked great. I signed up for a free trial of the target membership on its website. I think the minimum order was $35 but I did not have a problem adding other things to my order.

That's awful.

I used Instacart for years at OKW and SSR and was pretty happy. They can deliver directly to your room when you're there...we always order alcohol so I'd schedule for a time when I'm in the room as you must be present to accept alcohol. However, in the past couple years we had numerous bad experiences with Instacart, basically orders being cancelled with no reason or notification.
For the past few trips I've been using Lyft to Publix and doing my own shopping. Lower prices, no additional fees, and I'm there and back within an hour. Although I pretty much know what I want, there's nothing like being able to look over the selection yourself.

If www.TiffanyTowncar.com continues to allow a grocery stop on the ride between the airport and the hotel, I will go back to my previous practice of doing my shopping that way. I thought it would be easier to have www.instacart.com deliver to the hotel but it wasn't.

I plan on trying Walmart + for my upcoming trip. What is the best Walmart to use that is likely to have product in stock? We are staying at WL. Last year DH and I stopped at Walmart near the Hilton we stayed at on arrival night AND NEVER AGAIN. Besides the crowds and ridiculous wait to check out, they were out of a lot items.

We do a grocery order every trip and always used Garden Grocer. Last trip, we used Vacation Grocery Delivery. Great experiences and no issues with either. In January, I am planning to try Walmart delivery. The prices of items plus misc fees have just gotten crazy. I did a mock order of Publix Instacart and Walmart delivery and it was a difference of over $60. That is substantial and there are probably a few more items I would add for the actual order which would be an even bigger savings. I was starting a mock order with GG and after looking at the price of just a few items, I stopped as the prices were even higher than P/Insta.

In August 2023 we did our first grocery delivery using Instacart to Riviera. I instructed the driver to meet me in a specific spot outside. No reply. I suppose the driver was instructed to bring it to a designated loading dock area where Riviera has refrigeration units to store the groceries while waiting to deliver to our room.

After a short while we got a knock on our door. It was a cast member delivering our groceries. I tipped him for the service. Then later found that Riviera added a $15 delivery fee for bringing it up to the room. 🙄

After delivery fees, delivery tip, cast member tip, and Riviera’s door fee, I might have just been better off ordering from Primo Piatto each day. 🙃

Does this sound about right? We have an upcoming trip to Beach Club, is it the same process?

Crazy!

I’ve used WM+ multiple times in WDW and I’m from CA. Latest was June.
When you ordered your food/groceries: were you there and waited for them: or will they deliver to Bell Services? My hope is to have items/non alcohol: delivered to Bell Services prior to us arriving that day: then have it there when we arrive from MCO: is this an option to your knowledge?

I had them dropped at bell services for delivery early afternoon. You pick a like 2 hour delivery window, and leave instructions that it’s to be left at bell services for X hotel.

I used Instacart twice to have cases of water delivered to Bell Services at ASMu. The first time was on the 16th. Two cases of water and sunscreen. I left instructions to deliver to Bell Services at ASMu (incl address), my name, and that I was checking in that day). I ended up receiving a phone call while we were at the airport from Instacart asking for my room number. I explained I did not know as we have not arrived and to please leave it at Bell Services.

That night, after we picked up our order, we discovered the lid off the sunscreen container and almost half emptied out in the plastic bag...

Later in the week we decided to get another 2 cases of water (we under-estimated how hot and thirsty we'd be) and I threw in 2 packages of cookies (B1G1 free). One of the packages of cookies was ripped open and cookies missing...

I'm not sure I'll use Instacart again. We won't be back to Florida for a long time however.

DD and I used Kroger when we went to Disney in early August. We put in the order on Thursday night and it was at bell services at the Poly when we checked in. There was no minimum purchase required, deliver was $6.99, and when we did this Kroger was offering $25 off your first two deliveries. I don't believe you can order alcohol through them, or maybe you have to be present when the groceries are delivered so they can confirm your ID (not sure about either of these). We don't drink in the room when at Disney (too many tempting cocktails in the lounges and bars) so don't care about alcohol delivery.
We just came back from Disney and used Kroger and are very happy with the service. We did order alcohol and just met the driver at bell services and showed our ID. We have used Garden Grocer for many years and we never had a problem, but their prices are very high. We got everything we need at Kroger and found the prices and the quality of the fruits and vegetables to be very good. We will be using them for our next trip.

With these positive Kroger experiences, I will have to do a comparison trial cart between Walmart and Kroger. It may come down to which one has an "offer" for delivery in January.

Thank you to PPs for relating your Kroger experiences.

What is the bell service fee for accepting groceries? In the past , I've had a delivery window set for 7-8 at night when I knew for sure we'd have a room and be there. Then would get a text "on our way". Go down to lobby and wait anywhere from 20 mins to an hour to getting a text the order was cancelled (after is was said to be delivered to wrong resort). This trip I want to have the ordered delivered mid afternoon. Probably won't get to resort until early evening and rather just pay a fee (and tip) and have it brought it to room. I would need help anyway. Not like we are ordering a 12 pack of soda and a loaf of bread.

I think the grocery fee (something like $6-8) only gets charged if bell services delivers it to the room?

I have a question for those of you who've used Vacation Grocery Delivery. How were they about giving you exactly what you want? For instance, I notice that they have "soda" listed, but if you want a specific brand you have to write it in the notes. DH wants Diet Mountain Dew. Chances of getting that? And we like breakfast danish from Entemanns. They have "breakfast danish", so if I write in the notes "request brand Entemanns" and the flavor, will we have a good chance of getting it? I sort of wish you could order more specifically what you want.

Never heard of them.

Their service basically shops for exactly what you want. When I ordered from them, I put exactly what I wanted in each note box. When the shopper was in store, she texted me through the app if an item was out of stock or couldn't be found so that I could pick a replacement. It was a very good experience albeit expensive given the delivery fees and tip especially if you are also ordering alcohol as it has separate fees.
