Okay We have had to push our trip up from may 10-16 to june 1-7th. Thanks to Katrina kids can't miss anymore school. :teacher: Now I have always said I would NEVER go at this time of year because the crowds will be massive :grouphug: someone please ease my mind and tell me how wrong I am...please :confused3 We are looking into a pool home offsite which is also something new for us. I know the event that will be happening during that week and that usually doesn't bother me but do you think it will be way too much for an 11,9, and 4 yr old? Any advice would be helpful :wizard:

I don't think the crowds will be as bad as you fear. Where I live, school is still in session until June 22, and I think that's true of most of the public schools in the northern part of the country. Y'all in the south are the ones that get out of school by mid-May. :) The crowds don't really build up until EVERYONE is out of school in late June, and then they start to go down again when you guys return to school in mid-August (we don't go back to school until after Labor Day).

I think you'll be okay crowd-wise that first week in June.

Some of they days will be very busy, because of Gay Days. Check the schedule and avoid the park where the convention will be. They have one day set aside for each park.

Couple of things.... Remember, there will still be some schools that haven't let out for the summer, so it's not like everyone will be starting summer vacation that week.

Second, prepare yourself mentally. If you know you'll be facing crowds & lines, try to pace yourself. Good information is out there - TourGuideMike & Unofficial Guide both have good advice about touring plans / crowd levels for that time of year.

Most of all, remember you'll be in Disney! Standing in line there is tons better than standing in line at home! And don't worry about that "week". If your kids have had any experience with the Quarter, they'll be fine. I'm thinking if you don't call attention to it, they probably won't either.

We go this week every year, actually May 27 - June 4th. The Gay Day activities in the parks are June 1 -4, just check their schedule and go opposite. They are always at MK on Saturday, so just plan for another park that day to avoid the crowds this event brings. The weather is hot, but not nearly what it is in July or August. Last year, it did rain a good bit, so be prepared for that. WDW is busy most all the time now, so just go when you can and enjoy yourself!

We went last June 19-26 for our honeymoon, and didn't think it was that crowded. Any time is a good time to go to WDW!!
Go and have a ball!! :dumbo: :goofy: :tigger: :mickeyjum :donald:

I'll be going June 4-10 :)
I used to go to Disney every year in June, and I never thought the crowds were too bad. Although, I do think end of June is a lot worse than the beginning, because by the end of June, even the schools up north are out.
I think begining of June is a noce time to go.

June is busy but just arm yourself with a good touring plan and you'll be fine. We were there in late June - crowds worse than you'll face - and we never waited more than 20 minutes for anything when we stuck to the TGM suggestions. It was a great trip. The crowd can add a fun energy too - we were at WDW in Jan. Low crowds, less kids but it was almost too sedate for our liking.
