Please walk me through this

I've never flown alone before - which is a subject for a whole 'nother thread. But this trip, I am flying alone and to top it off, I'm flying through Pearson which I have never been to. I'm used to the easy-peasy Winnipeg airport - check in, walk 15 steps, clear US Customs, walk 15 more steps, clear security, go upstairs to the gate.

I am scheduled to land at Pearson Terminal 1 at 8:55 a.m. Then my connecting flight to MCO is scheduled to leave Terminal 2 at 10:25 a.m. I'm certain that doesn't leave me a lot of time to stand around considering my options so I really want to know the whole procedure. Will I have to clear security again after Customs, or is that done in a secure area for people with connecting flights? Please walk me through... right from collecting my luggage and clearing Customs, to changing terminals, to boarding my next flight!

ETA: I'm using Air Canada, if that makes any difference

Ok, I've not had the privelege of doing this but from what I have read here..........

You will have to pick up your luggage and take a bus to the next terminal where you will have to clear customs and then recheck your luggage. Try to take as little as possible since you will have to lug it all yourself.

Having flown between Winnipeg (I used to like my time at the "forks") and London Heathrow via Toronto many times (albeit 8 years ago) I only ever checked my bags and clear customes in Winnipeg. However, I still needed to pick up my bags in Toronto and "transfer" them myself, but there were no more customs clearance there.

As far as retreiving bags and changing terminals I can't really help you.
If it were me I would tell the ground agent at check in (Winnipeg) that I was a novice flyer and didn't know what I should do upon arrival in YYZ. Ask if they can provide an escort in YYZ (they should carry you on their back considering what it costs to fly AC ). It is their job to assist you---make them do it!

When you get off in YYZ there should be several ground agents there to greet the plane, ask them to show you where to go.

We did this ony going west not east ( We flew through pearson on our way to DL if i remember corectly you get your bags in t1 and carry them on the bus to t2 going through security twice i think then customs then you recheck your bags If you have 1:30 you have lots of time but not time to wast I would not stop till you get to the departure area in t2 ( Tip it is very expensve to eat at pearson )and if you dont know whare to go ask often if nessary .
