Hi Gang

Our neighbours are headed off to WDW at the end of January 2005 and are staying at the CBR and at WDW for the first time. Can you please tell me what's good about this resort and what they'll enjoy. Also any tips for them as first timers!

Thanks
Andy

PS. It'll be them and their 4 year old daughter.

I suggest you visit the 2 CBR FAQ's listed below. They contain lots of great information and trip reports, etc.

I also have loads of pictures from CBR on my web and photo sharing sites.

Hi andy,

definetely check out safetymoms threads she is the official guru on the CBR. In my opinion though, this is a beautiful resort. Kinda like the polynesian "lite".
Each group of buildings has its own beach with hammocks and private pool. In the center of the lake is parrot cay, its this island with HUGE lush foliage, its very beautiful to walk through...they even have rocking benches to hang out in and look out at the water. Ol' Port Royale where the main pool and pool bar and foodcourt is is very cool....they have the music goin, and it really gets you in that "caribbean" mood. The wildlife is fun to watch...and you can see fireworks from the resort as well. They made a great choice!

DH and I stayed there for our honeymoon and loved it! We were in Jamaica bldg 42, had a corner room with a water view and a king sized bed. We could walk right out to the beach, lay in the hammock, walk over to a small pool (that was NEVER crowded), we were a short walk to the bus stop and a lovely stroll over to OPR. The grounds are beautiful, it was so peaceful and quiet when we were there...and it was supposed to be a peak time too! If it wasn't that I want to try each and every resort we would be staying there again for our December vacation!

We liked the resort. We had a few snags along the way but nothing to say we would NEVER stay there again. It was nice. The atmosphere was great and the kiddie pool was large. Since they have a small child they should request to be next to the pool area/food court. If we had done that, then the trip would have been better for us.

The two preferred areas are Martinique and Trinidad North. They are close to food court and main pool. They do cost extra nightly to stay in those locations.

We love CBR
1.) The price makes it one of the best values on Site.
2.) The main pool area is super 7 includes a bar & food court , plus you have the option of using one of the local pools which will cetainly be empty, if that is more convenient.
3.) They have a great sit down restaurnat that is a super value.
4.) The tropical theme is quite relaxing and appropriate when visiting Florida.
5.)

Sorry i got cut off....

I would suggest Jamaica or Aruba. It is a short walk to the central location( Port Royale) that will utilize the bridge and island. it is beautiful and convenient to get a drink or coffee and rolls for breakfast.

We love the CBR.

The Banana Cabana outdoor bar, fountain, and Carribbean music at night makes it seem real festive. I love it at CBR. Just got back from 6 nights over Halloween. Perfect trip! :D

We really enjoyed out visit to CBR and would stay there again. The tropical theme is beautiful and relaxing. We loved out Jamaica room that overlooked the lake. :)
The food court is average but we never eat in them much anyway.
There are a lot of pools and we found that even in June our village pool was always empty.
Good luck!

Yummy tropical drinks at their pool bar. The grounds are very very pretty with nice white sand beaches. It was neat to see some of the fireworks by the pool as well:earsboy:
