I spent the day making this for my SIL birthday...She is a true angel:cloud9: in my life..My DS4 is autistic & there are only 2 people other than myself & DH that can 'watch' him...so in the past 7 years, my DH & I have only gone out, maybe a handful of times, thanks to the patience of my SIL's. Tomorrow is her birthday and I wanted to make something really nice for her..I am relatively new to the making things...and I definately tend to go 'overboard' on my pages, etc...I am really trying hard to simplify my creations. ;) . what can i say? I love:lovestruc to embellish! Anyway...please...honesty is truly what I am looking for here...Should I take some of the flowers out? Is it too much? My DH says it's perfect (:confused3 as any good DH should) but I really want it to be a nice gift...I owe her a LOT. Any feedback?

It is beautiful! But I agree with you too many flowers.
But better put, too many flowers, not enough pictures!
The picture of the kids is almost over powered.

You are VERY creative! She'll love it.

I think that's gorgeous! A wonderful gift. Seems like the kind of thing she could display like you would a bouquet of real flowers, right? If so, I think it's just right .

Thank you for your honesty. :goodvibes Would you just take out some flowers to simplify it or would you add a few flowers with more pictures?

I love it, but maybe 2-3 more pics. It is really pretty, I love the colors!!!

It is beautiful! Maybe just replace a few with pictures... if that makes sense. Keep the existing amount, just add pictures to a few of the existing, if possible. That said, what a beautiful heartfelt gift.

I totally agree with this. I really love it. Very creative and heartfelt. She will ADORE it :lovestruc

I love it. It does have alot of flowers but it reminds me of those really full bouquets. I love it as is, what a great gift she is going to love it. Better have hankies ready. Isn't life great when you have wonderful people in it.

I agree, add a few more pictures to some of the existing flowers.

I also agree that this is GORGEOUS!!! I would feel honored to receive a gift like that!

Would you care to share how you made it? My BFF's 40th birthday is coming up, and something along those lines might be a great thing for me to make for her.

I like it as it is with just the one picture and all the flowers. The one picture says it all and adds a nice touch to the flowers.

i think it's beautiful just as it is! very very nice. i'm sure she will just love it. how could she not? i would !!!

Good morning everyone. :goodvibes Thanks so much for sharing your honest thoughts! It is appreciated. Other than my DH I don't have anyone else to 'run things by' so it's nice to feel comfortable to share things
I think I am going to maybe add one more flower with 1 more picture and see how it looks. She is coming over today so I am pressed for time. I am afraid if I start adding too much more to it (like I said before, I tend to get wrapped up in something and overdo things :rolleyes1 ) she may have to add a new wing to her house to accomodate it.

I made the entire thing using my cricut for all the flowers (basic shapes/george cart) I just cut a bunch of flowers out, all different sizes, glued them together in layers and added a button for each center. I glued wooden bamboo sticks to each in the back and then backed them each with different colors of green. I let a little of the green show through in the back. I tied some ribbon around each flower. Inside the tin bucket there is a piece of floral foam that I stuck them all in. I covered it with some rocks & I quilled some pink paper into little circles to put inside the bucked to cover any of the green showing through. Glued some ribbon onto the container, used the same Cricut cart to cut out the tag and heart. Thats it! Very easy but time consuming. HTH!
Thanks again to all !!:goodvibes

That is adorable!! What a great idea. can't wait to hear how your SIL loved it.

Adorable!!! Love it!!! Just a few more photos is all I would add...but that is just simply adorable!!!!

It is absoultely beautiful.

It has brought me to tears today.

What a wonderful tribute to her, and how very creative you are!! As others have mentioned, I would add a few more pictures to balance it off.
Please share her reaction with us. Thanks. Caroline

Well despite the fact that my DH took both kids to the mall this morning to give me some time :lovestruc ....I didn't get a chance to change or add anything to it. It was given as is... I gave it to my SIL this afternoon, and to say she was touched would be an understatement. She couldn't speak for a bit and then, yes, we broke out the tissues. It was such a wonderful thing for me to be able to touch someone who I love so much and has given so much to my children with something as simple as paper, buttons, glue and a little of my time.
Thank you so much for all your feedback and supportive words. Of course now, as my SIL so kindly mentions, once my MIL sees it...well...back to my Cricut corner for grandma! :rotfl:

I am so glad she loved it! And I can't wait to see Grandma's version!
