I'm watching the Weather Channel and monitoring the Orlando area. I'm getting a little nervous over what they're calling for next week!! Oh let me see...could it be more rain??? :sad2::sad2:

Normally I don't fret when I see 30-40% chance of rain for Orlando. But when I see 60% for 4 days in a row I begin to wonder.

Oh well, I'll just pack the poncho's and umbrellas. I'm not going to let the rain ruin it for me and DH. But I do hope I can get a few days of pool time in with sunshine!!!!! :worship:

I wish you the best of luck and try to make the most out of it. Just remember, rain in Disney is much better than rain up north!

CORRECTION: Rain in Disney is better than sunshine up north! :cool1:

We were there from May 30th to June 9th and it began showing rain every day from June 3rd on. It actually only rained a few times [I think 3 total] and not for very long. I learned to quit looking at the weather reports because it would also stress me out needlessly. :cutie:

And you're soooo right. I've been to WDW more than enough times to know that it will rain at some point everyday. But we've had so much rain here in NY that I'm afraid it will rain everyday and all day!! Oh well...at least I'm in "my happy place".:love:

We were there May 25-28 and yes, it did rain a bit (okay, some downpours) everyday, but not all day. That was the second year we sat through Fantasmic in ponchos, but we have never let the rain stop us. It's Disney, how can you not have a good time!

My experience has been that any weather forecast for central Florida that's more than 36 hours away is generally worthless. Don't Panic.

And rain at Disney means lower crowd levels !!!

It will rain every day!! It just wont rain all the time everyday.

:thumbsup2 for both of these.

We were at WDW last week. I don't know the percentages but there was some chance of rain every day we were there. The graphic on my cell phone showed a black cloud and lightning every day.

As it turned out, we never got more than a short sprinkle (one day) and it was humid as all heck.

We did have a big threat of rain our first day (dark clouds) and I understand it rained elsewhere in Orlando. As it turned out that was the coolest day we had and crowds were extremely light (people probably running back to hotels thinking it was about to rain.)

In June consider the rain a blessing!

Rain also means reduced threat of wildfires, as TJ said it can be a blessing.

We'll be down Thursday night, and it looks like rain the entire trip. Oh well. We'll just walk in the rain, as usual!

One thing we don't do when it's as hot as it is out is wear ponchos. I would rather get wet then be steam-in-the-bag tourists!

I've been here since Saturday and it has clouded up a few times but only a few drops of rain, no downpours, despite "scattered thunderstorms" forecasts. I watched the forecast on TV this morning, nothing about big rainstorms the rest of the week.

Well, it can't rain as much as it did when I was there the week before Memorial Day. They had over 10" of rain that week. Daytona area had something like 30" of rain! That's a drought breaking kind of rain event and the odds of an all week rain like that again are pretty slim.

Thanks! I need to relax and take each day as it comes!! ;)

Yikes! Now I'm also getting nervous!:scared:

We will get to Disney on Saturday afternoon and will be there until that Friday. I haven't checked the weather - I guess it's not looking good? We had SO MUCH rain on last year's trip, it would suck for that to happen again. Granted, I will be very happy just to be at Disney, but I do want SOME sunshine!

I guess the key word in all these long range forecasts is "chance".
Meaning it might rain or it might not. And it might rain hard or it might not. And it might rain where you are and it might not rain just down the road.
In WDW I've seen it rain hard at Epcot while not a drop fell at the MK.
So I'd advise not paying too much attention to the forecasts, have a poncho handy just in case--and have fun!!

Yep, Have a Poncho in hand, cause it feels that this rain ain't ever stopping! In any case, have fun, rain or not!

I began pulling out all the "WDW stuff" I keep tucked away and the first two things I grabbed were the poncho's and umberllas!!

Oh well...I may not come home with a tan this time but I do know I'll have a wonderful time!
