We spend a great deal of time in our resort pool. We usually stay at the BCV but this trip we decided to take advantage of the dining plan. Whe we are not using DVC we usually stay at the Poly or GF. We are planning for this trip to be a very relaxing but short trip so I was thinking the location of the CR might be nice but only if the pool is nice. Can anyone tell me what it is like? My DDs are 4 and 6. DD6 is an excellent swimmmer and has to have a waterslide!

just came back from CR and while I had a nice time..pool is very stark, very bland. there is a slide..no theme at all..just a slide..

pool needs rehab...no theme just all concrete...snack bar is just a slab of a building adjacent to the pool..quite blah....

if you are staying in the towers , it is worth it and such a short distance to MK.
if you are strictly going to use the pools and relax,,pick another resort..
pick my favorite BWV

Do they still have a DJ at the Pool during the day?

I remember when I was there a few years they had one out by the pool everyday.

Lots of concrete, no shade, hardly any trees or landscaping, very very stark. :sad2:

I don't know...we didn't think it was THAT bad...we did a split stay ASMU/CR and granted ASMU grounds were more lush and they did have many beautiful palm trees there....and CR does not have any palms...The little beach area was ok for playing on and the fountains that spouted from the ground were ok. We thought the size of the pool was adequate, however it could use a section that is a little deeper. The slide is a basic slide, considered small by "water park" standards...but thats what BB and TL are for. There were plenty of lounge chairs, and the view of the lake is nice. My kids loveds getting slurpees from the food court and having them by the pool. I think we relaxed quite nicely at this pool because it was /is a basic pool....no sensory overload after the parks! If you are basing your resort choice based solely on the pool, yes, the theming is basic, but ya gotta admit, watching the monorail go by as you swim is pretty cool...at least to us! You should go to www.allearsnet.com and look at the photos of the CR....They may help you in your decision.

I thought the view from the pool area was nice. :confused3

The CR is my kids' favorite resort for many reasons - but the pool isn't one of them. It is just plain ugly. The waterslide is ugly. Concrete and more concrete.

If a pool is important to you, I would definitely go with another choice. We used to always go to WDW in Jan/Feb and never cared about a pool. Now that we go in warmer months, we don't stay at the CR. I prefer BC/Poly/GF for a resort with a nice pool.

Happy planning -

When we stayed at the CR before my DD was seven and just loved the pool and especially the slide. Kids are not going to care about the concrete. The pool is large, the water not too deep and the slide seems long and fun to a child. There are also water jets that spray up from the ground which they will love to play in. The small pool is out by the lake and has a wonderful view. We ar going back there next year for the convienience, hopefully for a rehabbed room, and the pool. I think your kids will love it.

My kids are 3 and 5, and they were fine with the pool. I did find it to be stark, but my kids aren't as concerned with things like landscaping like I am. My youngest had fun running through the little fountain area, and my oldest liked the water slide. The pool is shaped like Mickey's head. Both kids loved playing in the sand on the beach. While it's probably the least desirable pool of the deluxes, we still prefer the CR for the arcade, monorail, large rooms, and LOCATION, especially if you are going for a short trip.
