I thought I might sneak over (from WDW) while DH is golfing. I am a Jimmy Buffett fan and would like to know about the Margaritaville Cafe. How is the food? Do they play Buffett music all the time? What kind of things are in the gift shop? Do they take reservations or PS?

Thanks,
Tammy

Just got back from RPR. We ate at Margaritaville again this trip. The food is standard stuff, think Ruby Tuesdays, but pretty good. The place is huge and yes, they play Buffett music and have video screens throughout the restaurant playing with video of Buffett concerts. There is a great gift shop for all the Buffett "stuff", hats, shirts, etc. We were traveling with kids, and they really liked the restaurant and gift shop. It's a fun place.

They say the food is great here! There is also a volcano that errupts every so often. Fun place!

The food is not great....ate there twice (2 seperate trips) and got sick both times. I had salad with chicken both visits....will never eat there again. Aside from that it is a typical "themed" restaurant chain. IMHO, not worth the trip from WDW as you can have so much more fun where you are while your DH is golfing.

Shoot, I would travel to Margaritaville just to shop in their gift shop and for one of their Margaritas. I got a pair of salt shakers that say "looking for my lost shaker of salt" on them which everybody who sees them has to comment, "oh how neat!" BTW, the volcanoe erupts Margarita too. wasn't too crazy about the cheesburger in paradise, but the atmosphere was fun. If you have AAA make sure and mention it for a 10% discount off both food AND merchandise. Linda
p.s those parrot shirts they sell are a riot! :D

The gift shop was great. We loved the music and videos but the food wasn't great. My well done burger was rare. I only ate half of it. I would go again. I wouldn't order a hamburger.

Oh well, they make good frozen drinks. They have one of those machines with a huge ice bucket above it, that crushes the ice, and makes whatever you want.
Yes, they play the music from live concerts, you'll like hearing it. Plus the huge plane out front is worth seeing, and sitting in the chairs out front people watching.
They also play Buffett music at the Key West area of SWF, where you can feed dolphins.
You'll have fun. If the food is lacking, I'd say to get a frozen drink and an appetizer. If you're that much of a fan, you'll want to come back to City Walk or SWF and hang out.

We sat outside under the fans listening to a guitarist singing Buffett music. Had great drinks, good food and wonderful atmosphere...Can't wait to do it again this summer.......

Hi,

I've never been here but we're going on the 15th of this month and they do take PS. I called 1-407-224-9255 to set it up. I sounds like a fun place and my dh and boys love Jimmy Buffet so I know they will love it. Have fun!:D

I thought it was me. I really thought the food was not all that good. We had a terrible seat right across from the kitchen and each time the door opened I could see it was not all that clean. Food was not that great. Gift shop is okay. If I were at Universal I would choose Hard Rock or NBA before I chose Margarita Ville.

I am a huge Buffett fan, and the only disappointment for me was that the music wasn't loud enough (or the crowd was too loud) to really get my Buffett fix. We had several drinks at the bar (the Bahama Mamas are great, Margaritas good, beer standard), two kinds of chicken wings for appetizers (both very good), and Cheeseburgers in Paradise. While my hubby really liked his burger, mine was just okay. I should note that I "just had to" put Heinz 57 sauce on it like Jimmy does, and that may have been what I didn't like. Nice, fun atmosphere, just wish the music was louder. They had a few amazing stilt walkers dancing, goofing around with the customers and blowing up balloons for the kids. We are going back in Sept with our kids, and I'm sure they'll like it.

P.S: I finally got my Buffett fix at the airplane bar outside, where you can watch concert footage on TV and hear the music loud and clear. ;)
