Please tell me about Georgia

I am going to visit my brother who lives in Georgia for a few days next month. What is there to do around there? I will be just outside Atlanta. This is my first time in Georgia so I am sure there is lots to see.

It is going to be me and my 2 kids, 10 years old and a 20 month old that are going.

Stone Mountain is just outside of Atlanta and it's great. You can find enough to do there to keep your whole family entertained all day, plus there's a lot of Civil War history there, too. If it's your first time in Georgia then you can hardly escape that!

The Atlanta Zoo is pretty good, though I'm not sure it's worth the price tag to get in.

You can take a tour of CNN downtown, but that might not amuse the kids much.

Six Flags is here, too, if you like that sort of thing. It should be open most of October.

When I was in Georga (about 10 years ago) we toured the coke museum (the kids loved the "fountain" that poured your sample)
and went to an Underground mall...something about raising the city level up and these were the old streets...it was neat....

Next month will be cool at night and the leaves will be changing. Look for a local pumpkin farm or cornfield to visit. There are several places outside of Atlanta to take the kids on a hayride. If nothing else, go to a roadside stand and buy some apples! What part of Georgia will you be visiting?

My brother and his wife moved to Suwanee (?) in January and this will be my first visit there.

Tanglewood Farm in Canton is great. It wouldn't take long to get there from Suwanee. It's right on the border of Canton and Alpharetta. It's a farm filled with miniature animals. They have everything from mini horses, donkeys, sheep, pigs, buffalo, cats, dogs, and rabbits. It's really cute.
