Hi so is there a better character breakfast than Chef Mickeys??
Thanks
:lovestruc

We love Cape May Cafe at Beach Club with Minnie, Goofy, Chip/Dale and we also really enjoy Tusker House at Animal Kingdom with Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy

We're going to try to go there, but every time I call the never have any open spots at a reasonable time.

In my opinion The Crystal Palace in MK has the best character breakfast. The buffet is very good and Pooh and friends are fantastic. It's our tradition to start every WDW vacation there.

Ok, this may sound like a silly question but I was wondering something...I was looking at some pictures on this website and there is a picture of breakfast at Chef Mickey's and everyone (or so it seems) is waving their napkins in the air. Is this to get the characters attention? I have a VERY active 2 year old and I would be afraid he would be dancing on the table trying to get Mickey's attention if I encouraged the napkin waving. :rotfl:

I've only eaten there for dinner so I don't know if they do this during breakfast but the napkin waving is an event where the characters parade around to music while encouraging everyone to wave their napkins. They've done this every time we've been there and my kids love it.

There are Rice Krispy Treats on the breakfast buffet. That instantly won my love. ;)

(Though I think Crystal Palace is a better buffet overall)

One more vote for breakfast only. We've done 5 or 6 of them. The food is pretty good - it is hard to mess up breakfast. My DW usually hates buffets, but can find things to eat. But we are really doing it for the kids, not the food. They go wild every time a monorail goes by. And the characters are great. I'm so sorry to hear Chip and Dale are gone. Goofy greets you as you arrive and leave, and we've gotten some great photos. Last time, Donald forgot to stop at our table cause we were all at the buffet, but a CM there mentioned it to him and he came back around to our table.

This is a "signature event" at Chef Mickey's EVERYONE is supposed to wave their napkins at "that" time. Our 6yo loved this, but I kind of think his grandma had even more fun with it. Know that its coming, join in, but have the digital or video camera ready to go!

Chef Mickey's is what I like to call controlled chaos: bright, airy, noisy (dishes, families, music, monorail running by overhead) then you add in the napkin waving and dancing. Your 2yo will have a great time. Our 6yo was keyed up way before we were even seated (I've got pictures to prove it). It was a great experience, it is the meal he still talks about and we're going for dinner in August.
