Please help me out finding information on Chef Mickeys! :rolleyes1
We were there 2 years ago and my DH said it was good.:confused3 I don't remember because it was our first trip to WDW with then DD11 and DS7. It was the first night we were there and all I can remember is being very overwhelmed with excitment and my daughter losing her dinner in the middle of the night:guilty: I really don't think it was the food that made her sick but I can't be 100% sure but I don't think so.:sad2: . I haven't heard great reviews about it and I know that everyones take on an experience is not always the same and true to others but I really would like some feed back from someone that has been there recently.
TIA::yes::

We (DH and 2 nieces) ate there for dinner once and the food was horrible. I had food poisoning a few hours later and was sick to death. We ate the same foods all day long but I was the only one to eat a chicken, mushroom pasta dish with a cream sauce at CM and I was the only one sick so my thoughts were that it was from CM!

We love it there for breakfast,as its our fave breakfast buffet so far. As for dinner, we tried it last year and thought it was way overhyped! I wasn't fond of the food, the choices weren't that great and even though I did like the parmesan mashed potatoes, they weren't enough to bring me back. I can make those babies at home! I highly recommend the breakfast, but the dinner is, well, meh..... :)

We loved it! We had dinner there and it was one of our fav meals. People are all different and like different things so the opinions are just that. Don't let it make or break an ADR for you.

The character interaction was not hurried and alot of fun. All the characters hammed it up with both my kids.

We are working on eating at every restaurant and I have to say this was one we really loved.

If I had to pick between breakfast and dinner at Chef Mickey I would pick breakfast (although last time we ate there for breakfast was Feb 2000). The food was not great, but not horrible at the same time - typical buffet food, nothing 5 star but no one got sick and we all found something to eat. We ate at better dinner buffets but we chose this restaurant more for the atmosphere (being in the Contemporary and seeing the monorail go thru the hotel, etc). Character interaction was excellent. We went the first night we were there and it was a great way for the kids to see the characters before hitting the parks. The characters took their time at each table and were great with the kids. Oh - and we ate dinner there in Dec 2007.

I do have to agree with this. The food isn't horrible, and the character interaction was great, but there are too many other "better" places to eat at WDW. I like to do at least one character meal for our youngest and if you're paying OOP, the breakfasts are the better deal. For the DDP, however, its obvious that the dinners are the better deal. I just wouldn't do this one again for dinner.

Me, I can't wait to go for breakfast LOL just thought I would say HI

We had bfast and it was okay. Typical bfast buffet, nothing to write home about. We did enjoy the time with the characters though!

We haven't eaten there for dinner, but we LOVE Chef Mickey's for breakfast - it is one of our favorites. Good buffet, good character interaction & a fun atmosphere - we can't wait to go back this Sept.

We actually really enjoy it. The food isn't fabulous but it isn't terrible either. My daughter is more concerned with the character interaction and it is great. It's a buffet so you can usually find SOMETHING that the family will eat. The last two dinners that we had there we spent quality time with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald and Chip and Dale. They made trips around to the guest more than once and it made for some GREAT pictures. GO FOR IT!

We are scheduled to eat there on the 5th of June. I thought I read it was one of the better character meals, but maybe it was the "character" part and not the "meal" part?? :confused3 Gosh, I hope it is okay. Food poisoning would stink!!

Never had dinner, but we have ate the character breakfast twice - both times it was a decent start to our mornings. That and the kids loved the characters and thats the primary reason we go anyway.

Everytime were down we always go for dinner, but it's really just for the character meet and greet, not the cuisine. The kids do love the make your own dessert station. I'm always surprised they keep letting them back in. Sorry again for the mess. But my DW and I feel the food is sub par at best. But we never got sick.

The kids really enjoy the characters so we take one for the team.

Chip and Dale are no longer there :sad2:

My family likes buffets and we especially loved Chef Mickeys. Our waiter was average but the food was great. My DD8 loves and I mean loves Goofy. She was wearing a goofy shirt, goofy hat and a goofy tattoo. Goofy really messed with her. Put napkins on her head and messed up her hair. He then picked her up and swung her around in a circle. This was the best part of her trip. We are planning on returning in June and hope she gets noticed by goofy again.

When we went the food wasn't horrible, and the character interaction was great. Of course it just typical buffet fair.

I beg to differ, the triple cheese eggs were addictive. My mother loved Goofy's lasagna and come on, how can you not like Mickey waffles at Chef Mickey's. :confused3

We are looking forward to dinner there this trip.

We just returned and we did Chef Mickey's for dinner on May 8th. For the price that you pay, the food was not good. I understand that it's a character dinner and that's what you're paying for, but when you're spending $30 for an adult and $20 for a child, you would expect a little better than what they offered. The salads and sides weren't being replenished, people were waiting for the cheese pizza and they just stood there, waiting because none was brought out. The only redeeming part of the dinner was the dessert section.

My children loved meeting the characters this way, but I'd pass on the dinner and go to the breakfast meal next time.

Ok, this may sound like a silly question but I was wondering something...I was looking at some pictures on this website and there is a picture of breakfast at Chef Mickey's and everyone (or so it seems) is waving their napkins in the air. Is this to get the characters attention? I have a VERY active 2 year old and I would be afraid he would be dancing on the table trying to get Mickey's attention if I encouraged the napkin waving. :rotfl:
