Please stop showering in your perfume/cologne!

Amen to that! I absolutely HATE being able to smell someones perfume!
I honestly wish perfume were never invented, what's wrong w/ just using soap and water?

I don't think perfume was invented as a replacement to washing yourself with soap and water LOL. It's an extra to smell nicer than just soap.

I wear perfume and I love the way it smells. Of course I don't spray the entire bottle on myself;)

Just like smokers can't smell their clothes/home/car reeking of smoke...perfume wearers can't really smell their perfume if they are using the same scent daily. You sort of become "immune" to the smell.

I agree. I think that once they've become 'immune' to the scent they can't smell it so they keep spraying until they do smell themselves. I don't think they realize just how much they're putting on.

If you do decide to talk to her, please do so gently.

This reminds me of a time a co-worker decided to berate me in front of other co-workers for wearing too much perfume.... the thing was, I wasn't wearing any! I used to never wear perfume! She then said, "Well, it must be your soap!" I responded, "Well, if you think I'm going to stop using soap in the shower, you're crazy!" :rotfl:

This person was known to be a bit wacko, and demanding. Heck, she didn't like it when other teachers wore certain colors. They were too bright for her eyes! :confused3

I love, love, love Amazing Grace by Philosophy. To me (maybe not others) it is a nice clean, light fragrance. But I am aware of how many people have allergies so my treat to myself is that I spray it on the linens before I go to bed. I get to enjoy the fragrance, but it is gone by morning so no one else has to be bothered by it.

on wednesday i had the unfortunate job of staying with a new client to our firm while she interviewed attorneys to hire. we had 5 law firms come over 6 hours. not only was she obviously drunk but in between every interview she'd go smoke like a fiend and then douse herself with one of those really really cheap roll on perfumes!! oh and she also nearly nodded off during interview number 2.
well, it's friday night and i still can't get that sick stink of cigarettes and cheap perfume outta my nose!

poor me, i've been assigned as her manager :furious:

We got a firm-wide e-mail about not wearing perfume because some people with allergies complained. I save my perfume for special occasions. It's expensive and, to me, work just isn't a good enough excuse to use it. :teeth:

Gosh, we have a male manager who smells like he bathes in his cologne. I always know when he's in the office, because I can smell him before I see him. :P

I'm in the same camp with most everyone here. Most perfumes (especially musky ones) give me a terrible headache. And, like another poster said, Amazing Grace (and Falling in Love) by Philosophy are two that do not. I don't wear them on a daily basis, and when I do, I do the spray and walk away system.

However, when my sister was undergoing radiation for breast cancer, she was told that she could not use deoderant. She didn't want to stink up a room when she walked in with BO, so she started wearing perfume and she applied it with a heavy hand. Unfortunately, even after she was finished with the radiation, she continued with the perfume. We were together one year at Easter, and her perfume gave me a migraine! We were making plans for a girls only cruise at the time, and I asked her to please leave the perfume at home. She had no idea that it gave me so many problems, and was happy to do it. She even asked if she should get unscented deoderant instead of her regular stuff! I told her no, I was just glad she could use the stuff now!
