I’ve read reviews on the Pepper Market at CSR that many of the servers are not very friendly and that the manager walks around making people uncomfortable by looking at them not very nicely (not the usual Disney dining experience). I’d really like to hear your experiences, both positive and negative. If this is true, it doesn’t sound like a place I want to eat many meals…especially with the higher cost of counter service meals and the 10% gratuity added to your bill.

We stayed at CSR with our Grand Gathering last December for a week and ate at the Pepper Market a total of 4 times; each time was a bad experience. They were staff was generally unfriendly (I've never felt like more of a nuisance to someone than when I was trying to explain to the cook that I only wanted 1/2 the amount of cheese - one handful is enough, thanks - he was going to put on my steak quesadilla - the nerve of me!). The unique punch-card ordering system, while interesting, was more a pain-in-the-neck than the traditional method. Cleanliness; utensils and plates were always clean, but as a whole the dining room felt like it could use a good scrub down.

And my least favorite part of the Pepper Market; The steady pounding of techno music from the dance club it shares the common area with - REALLY disrupts the ambiance of the resort IMO and creates an obnoxious environment at night.

The food was pretty decent and portion size was very fair, but I ended up avoiding the Pepper Market for the last 3 days of the trip, just grabbed a sandwich and juice at Cafe Rix.

We stayed at CSR in 2001 and eat at the Pepper Market for breakfast most of the times. We did eat a few meals for lunch or dinner. It's okay. The food is edible and there are many different stations to chose from. I found that if you were nice to the staff, they were nice to you. We were down there during 9/11. Everyone was pretty tensed but the staff appeared to be calm, which tends to calm the guests. Hope this helps.

I really liked the Pepper Market and felt that as a CS it was a great deal (not sure if this is still a CS). That being said, I vaguely remember the "not so friendly" staff but didn't let it bother us much. Trying to check out was a bit of a nuisance though, somewhat confusing I think.

We love PM! :cool1: It's an amazing value for a CS and we can all get totally different types of food all at one place! Mom likes Asian, Dad likes Mexican, and I like the Italian, so it works for everyone. They also have great smoothies on the DDP and the bakery has a bunch of choices for dessert. We use all of our CS credits there. If we were not on the DDP though, we would split meals and skip drinks/dessert because it's a bit pricey. The servers are a little weird- sometimes they're friendly and helpful and sometimes they are missing in action. I wish they would get rid of them altogether and just let us get our own refills :)

I never had a problem there. I think the food is good and big portions, and I don't think the staff is super friendly or anything, but who cares, its a counter service! We're really easy going so we don't let little things bother us, maybe that's why we like it.

We were there in December, had probably 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners there and the food was good, hot and fast as was the service.

We had no complaints and would go back without hesitation

I have read lots of bad things here but our experience at PM has always been really good. The food is consistently good and people were never unfriendly...we were even comped margaritas on our honeymoon! I like the freshness of the food at PM, too. To each his or her own! I would not hesitate to return.

We like the PM, it's one of the better counter service meals we've had at disney. More choices, good food. We got used to the way they do things. I like the idea of sitting down and eating my food while it's still hot instead of waiting in line at the food court, stopping to fill my mug get condiments and find a seat. If everybody liked the PM you would'nt be able to get in. We were there before Cafe Rix opened so I don't know about the music. I think it's the kind of place you have to try for yourself. Linda :)

Bored, grouchy waiters and other personnel, mediocre food, all around disappointment. We had one breakfast there and didn't go back. We were at CSR for free dining and avoided PM, even though we ended up with leftover CS meals.

We have eaten there many times during our six stays (and coming up our seventh stay in September). No, I will admit, the people who bring you your drinks are not the friendliest or outgoing people I've ever met. But since all they do is bring me my drink, I don't really care. I've never had a problem with the manager; in fact, he stopped by our table twice during our visits and asked if everything was satisfactory. We have done breakfast (not my favorite meal there...but I don't like eggs) and lunch. My DH and I always enjoy our lunches. When we dined without free dining, we took it to go to save the automatic 10%. We have never had a bad lunch.

We ate there once on a hotel exploring expedition. I don't remember the staff, so I don't think they were particularly friendly or particularlly rude. But I do remember the fajitas. There were very good and a good bargain as well. It was enough for my daughter and I to share.

In fact she's already requested that we go back on our next trip!
