Please share your Christmas menu

All my plans went out the window when DH asked me to make a ham.

:(

So..
tonight is
Leftover chili, fried polenta, salad

cookies, apple and cherry pies

tomorrow breakfast--orange rolls, coffee

tomorrow lunch/dinner---ham,, au gratin potatoes, salad, crescent rolls.

I'm bound and determined to not be stuck in the dang kitchen all day.

We don't celebrate Christmas per se (Jewish), but we never miss an opportunity to have a special meal so..

In previous years, I have taken the opportunity to make holiday meals that I didn't cook for that year. So we have had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner or Rosh Hashanah meal. This year, it's treif (non-kosher) all the way!

Christmas Eve -
Chinese food (this was a tradition in my family (Christian) for years) and then driving around to see the lights

Christmas Day -
Lobsters, baked potatoes, salad and probably ice cream for dessert

We used to do Chinese when I was a kid and I have been thinking about introducing it to the family. Its seems that it is more common than you would think.

I just took a ham out of the oven and I'll be making ham & potato chowder and split pea & ham soup served with ham sandwiches for dinner tomorrow.
I bought a bunch of frozen appetizer foods and I'll do party meatballs in the crockpot to munch on all day.

I'm done doing sit down meals, if my family wants them on holidays they can start doing all the work for them.

It's a quiet Christmas -- only DH and me with DS19 and DD14.

Rib roast
Mashed garlic red potatoes
Broccoli
Brussels sprouts
Fresh rolls
Apple pie (in the oven now!)
