Will be at Club Level on Aug. 12 and 13 -
wanna get excited about this hotel.
We cannot change hotels, due to great price
and never had Club Level before.
Good things, please?????

It has a cool water playground by the pool. :)

Club level will (should) make a big difference for you. (Haven't been there but they tell me it's nice!)
The surroundings at RPR are wonderful (OK... ambience, makes it sound even better).
Here's a big positive: I've not seen as many coolers/icechests at Jaguar tailgate parties as I saw around RPR. Guests were rolling 'em & carrying 'em everywhere. Someone had a huge one down by the pool. Heck, I might wheel a fridge in on a handtruck next visit!
Another positive: You can traverse the hotel grounds, outside & under cover, during the P.M. rain showers. The rains actually add to the tropical setting. Nicer when it clears up of course!

Minnie's Guy I'm with you. We have club level booked for Aug. 1-4 and the reports aren't exactly glowing. I will post as soon as we get home but we're not coming home until the 10th. I did read on the trip reports page to AVOID Brian at all costs at checkin! There are several people who remember him by name !!!!

Hmmm I read several great reports from RP. Maybe someone can pull some up, I don't know how to do it. But I also will be at Club level next week, so I'll give my report. But when we stayed in June we had a great time, no problems.

Stayed at RP last weekend, nice pool view (109 ent rate). Very beautiful hotel. Did not eat at any of its restaurants. The room was nice but not large-just a hotel room, unlike the one you must be getting. PARKING WAS HORRIBLE. Not nearly enough spaces and then they charged us $6 per day to hunt for a space. Boat to City walk worked very well and the walk was pretty short-app 8 minutes. Front of the line was awesome, at 4PM saturday the MIB wait was 60 to 90 minutes, we virtually walked on (less than 5 minutes). All the other rides saturday were 1 to 5 minutes, maybe a 10 to 15 once in a while. Just cant beat it. We went to HRH and swam during the outdoor movie-kids loved it. Overall a great experience but I would do HRH next time.

My kind of crowd! Sounds like the info about RPs high food prices is getting around.

We are going to stay no matter what - I
know for sure we will not be eating at the
hotel (except club level) so that was not
an issue. PLEASE, respond on the club
level food/drinks (especially for our kids).

My nephew stayed at the RP while we were at the HRH. We went over and thought it was a beautiful hotel. Take time to look around and appreciate all the wood and the intricate carvings.
The only complaint my nephew had was check in took a LONG time. Other than that he loved it. They were in Tower 2 and had a great view of all the fireworks. He was told there was a charge for parking, but there was no charge for it on his bill. He enjoyed the walk from the hotel to the parks (even with two young children).
Go and ENJOY!!!!

I can only assume Club Level; at RPR works like Club Level at HRH where I stayed recently. The food and drinks perks is awesome. In fact, you could probably feed yourself on what they put out.

Very extensive continental breakfast with criossants, muffins, donuts, and, if you insist, fruit and cereal. Coffee, tea, and milk, of course.

Soft drinks are available all day.

In the late afternoon, they put out little snacks like chicken wings and mini hotdogs.

At bedtime, they have milk and cookies.

Your kids will love it!

CPM I am referring to the trip reports on this board!!! There are quite a few from the RP!! If you go there you can read of 3 different encounters with the above mentioned BRIAN.

Okay, but I didn't say anything about *Brian*. I just mentioned I read a lot of good reports also. I tried to do a search but couldn't find it, someone just came back from Club level & loved it. I hope one bad check in guy doesn't ruin club level for everyone.

Minnie's Guy, Debbie bumped up her report of RP Club level for you.
It's under a thread called "Anyone back from RP club level yet?"

I'm not going to sweat all the mixed reviews as I remember the exact same thing happened when HRH first opened...lots of horror stories.

The hotel just opened so, of course, they'll be problems.

For the rate I got for Club level, I'm a happy clam. I can't wait to check it out.

Then, after I have, I'll decide which resort is the best for the buck although, I haven't tried Portifino (sp?)...just HRH so far.

I'm going to continue to think positive about RP.

Out of everything I've read, the only thing that I might be concerned with is being able to find a parking space and that some say the pathway to IOA is longer than necessary but their both not that big a deal in the long run; after all we're on vacation!!

I'll report back if I still feel this way AFTER my stay!;)

Hi guys! Can anyone tell me exactly what "club level"is? We don't have this term in England and we've just booked to go to RP for 2 weeks in Sept but wasn't offered any executive or upgraded rooms, can you upgrade at check-in and how much roughly is it?

Thanks,

Claire

I am not 100% percent sure if I got it right but I'll tell you what I know about it:

Club Level means your romm is on a special floor/level.
There is an buffet for "club-level-stayers" which features:
-Brekfast
-Lunch (??????? not sure)
-Dinner

as well as beverages throughout the day.
(In the evenings also wine, maybe beer etc...)

If I undestood the system right all this is free to you.

I am sure someone who knows more about it will answer soon.

It's like Conceirge. You get added benefits staying at Club level. Snacks throughout the day and conceirge to book reservations and a lounge and other things. I've never been able to afford it but couldn't pass the RP's rate of $139 for "Club" level.

I'm not sure what your upgrade rate would be....can't help you there.

Nice things:

1.) Clean
2.) Friendly staff
3.) Neat lobby
4.) Comfy beds
5.) Cool pool
6.) Rice is sticky :)
7.) Hotel is pretty quiet, even with the park and the street relatively close

The only bad part is parking. It's very limited. I had to drive around and around to find a space. I was tempted to put my car in valet parking.

We also got the $139 Club level price for 3 nights the end of August. I received my confirmation letter back in January and called twice to verify. I plan to call again before leaving. It is unbeliveable that a hotel like Loews would try to change the price, just stinks! I won't be staying there if this happens to us. About parking, since we got such a great rate I was thinking of just spending the $12 per day plus tips for valet parking. Is it worth doing? After reading about all the parking problems I'm worried. Thanks for the warning about Brian, will try and keep away from him at all cost. But one bad apple will not spoil our time at RP, that's for sure. Any thoughts on parking and using valet?? Is there enough valet parking?

RobinLyn:)

Hi to all,

In case you didn't see the other thread, I had to respond here. I don't want anyone to think Club level means 3 full meals a day, you would be dissapointed! You get a continental breakfast (pastries, bagels, muffins, cereal, fruit, and beverages), don't know if any snacks are available during the day, we were always at the parks, evening h'orderves (just a few selections of hot ones) and fruit, cheese, crackers and beer or wine, later there is a nice dessert buffet.

The staff in the lounge is great and very helpful with any questions. I have not read ANY bad reviews of club level on this board. Have a great time!
