PLease say it isn't so

Ali, you did not offend me whatsoever. I just think that Disney's contribution to the war effort was the greatest thing they've ever done.

Personally I think it was Aladdin but whatever floats your boat.

I have read the book you are refering to, and Disney OWNED a porn pay-per-view channel called "Spice". They also owned shares in a company that made porn movies. Disney did not actually make the movies,, but they profited from them. They also owned shares in a record company that made Satanic heavy metal music. Personally I like heavy metal...but not the type that this company made, ex: references made to killing parents and blood rituals. Definately not normal stuff.

So then let's look at the facts that are stated rather than the myths:

Disney produced an animated film called The Story of Menstruation.

Photographic images of a topless woman can be spotted in The Rescuers. Sound familar?
http://www.snopes.com/disney/info/rescue1.htm

Lemmings were induced into jumping off a cliff for this Disney nature film.

One of the castle spires on the cover of Disney's The Little Mermaid home video was deliberately drawn as a phallus by a disgruntled artist.

The letters S-E-X are formed by a swirling cloud of dust in The Lion King.
http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/lionking.htm

In the film Aladdin, the hero whispers, "Good teenagers, take off your clothes." - This can be heard, when Aladdin is attacked by Rajah, watch the film again.

In a talking Lion King book, Rafiki chants, "Squashed bananas up your ****." - It is said that the tracks ran together and formed this, why would it just "accidently" form such a disgusting phrase?

Again just a few, true, rumors...

Amazing that in using snopes to back up some claims that are true (e.g. the unfortunate lemmings), you completely ignored the links on snopes debunking your claims regarding Rafiki ( http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/rafiki.htm), Aladdin( http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/aladdin.htm), and the Little Mermaid cover art ( http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/mermaid.htm)...

What's even more incredible - in an amazing coincidence, the text you used to highlight these rumors is the same - word for word - as the headlines on these snopes web pages...

So all you really have is the two frames in the Rescuers, the SFX/SEX confusion in the Lion King (labelled as unconfirmed by snopes), and the lemmings (which is unfortunate but not sexual and therefore not pertinent to the issue of whether Disney did porn), and an educational short on women's health.

Yeah, that settles the issue alright... :sad2:

If you want to argue a point, please do so with a shred of intelligence and integrity.

I'd like everyone to know that unlike WDW_DV, I do not obsess over pages and pages of Disney information because I am not one to waste my time. I merely saw the headlines and linked them back here, and I'm sorry if you have nothing better to do in your sad little life than follow behind me and check to see if information is accurate, but hey it's not my fault.

Now, on the other note, I love Disney and would never think for a second that they did these things on purpose. And contrary to most on this boards belief, no I am not looking for sexual clues in movies. I was merely trying to help argue a point that didn't come across clearly here is what it was:

Disney is not perverted, though people however are...

This explains why something of such nature would be ut in a film...

I apologize for being a bit rude, but the point is still this: You appear to have cut and pasted the text from the Snopes pages that proved the rumors false, but then claimed the rumors were in fact true. What's up with that?

Why do people get so unconformtable at the thought of Disney acting controversial? I enjoy going to WDW but where does this need that some people have with defending Disney to the death come from? Are they paying you or something?

Ummm....there are more people than your friend who say this.

I don't think you have to read into things to see that Disney is not "innocent". I'm not talking about seeing things written in the clouds of animated films or playing the soundtrack at a slow speed to hear a cartoon character say something inappropriate. There are very blatant examples of Disney being, well, unDisneylike. One that comes to mind is a short animation starring Donald Duck that was produced during WWII as military propoganda. Nothing like a gun-totin' duck to say Disney!

Ali

Actually Disney doing things for the War effort are very "Disney-like", considering Walt himself joined the armed forces of WWI at a very young age. WDW only giving park discounts would probably make Walt

My example had little to do about a company supporting the war effort and more to do with a cartoon duck urging us to pay our taxes and toting a rifle. Call me kooky but it doesn't fit up there with pixie dust and other happy thoughts.
