Hi everyone! First let me say that I have been overjoyed since I found this site. I love Disney! I have enjoyed reading all the wonderful posts and getting tips. My mom and I are scheduled to visit WDW August 29th through September 5th. It's been five years since we've been to WDW so I am looking forward to the new stuff as much as the existing stuff. I don't want to plan too much and take the thrill out of the experience. However, I have set aside the following days and wanted to see what you guys thought. We are also planning to see Sea World one day.

08/29
Arrive around 11am (or before)
Luggage check-in at ASMo
Downtown Disney until 5pm
Check-in room
Dinner PS at Hollywood & Vine 6:30pm
Fantasmic 8:30pm

08/30

08/31

Lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table PS 1pm

09/01

Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade 4pm
Boardwalk in evening

09/02
DS EE 8-8:30
Disney's Stars and Motor Cars Parade 5pm
2nd Fantasmic 8:30pm (possibly)

09/03
EFW/EWS EE 8-6 11-9
Illuminations 9pm

09/04
Day to redo anything or catch anyting we missed or to relax by pool

09/05
Leave the greatest place on earth :-(

If we get done with a park early then we will either go to another park or go back to the hotel to relax before the afternoon activities at the park scheduled for that day. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I think your schedule looks good but you might want to re-visit the times on your check-in day. It can take 30+ minutes or so (factoring in bus waits) to get from DD to All Stars, your check in time can vary and it may take longer than you anticipate especially if you are waiting for them to deliver your luggage and then again it can take 30+ minutes to get to MGM (factoring in bus waits). A 6:30 PS may be cutting it a little close. You might want to think about leaving DD around 4:30 or pushing your PS back to about 7:00.

As a general rule I always factor in 1 hour to get from point A to point B using the busses. I am usually a little early but on occassion I was glad that I built that much time in.

I think your itinerary looks good! I'm going with my Mom in Oct and plan on having a great time too. :Pinkbounc

A good plan, but I would take the advice on bus timing. Planning some down time at your resort has benifits.

becka, Alice28, FloridaCat,

Thanks for the responses. I will definitely plan an hour for bus travel (not only for 08/29 but for all travel). Thanks for that suggestion. I can't wait! I'm sure we will have downtime during the day. It's so nice to be on site so we can leave the park without having to worry or having to travel a long distance to and fro.

don't know the gaes of your kids but for sure plan downtime - I planned for my 7 year old to do naps mid day - but I never even had to force the issue... after staying up late to catch firworks, and then getting up ealry to get to EE mornings... she would tell us when she wanted to leave the parks... 2ish most days... noon one day... and while she did not nap on any day but the go home at noon day... she did at least relax and wind down and hand at the pool....
then we would go back later in the evening for stuff

What a wonderful sounding plan

Have a great trip!!!!!!!!!!

You will have a fabulous time with the varied activites and pacing you are setting each day

Thanks

Alice28,

Sorry forgot to mention in my last post that I hope you and your mom have a great time in October!

nataliesdaddy, jaysue,

No kids during this trip, just me (twenty something) and mom (fifty something). But thanks for the input.
