We decided to add a night at Universal to our spring break trip to WDW. I figure this will give us 2 days at Universal. We decided to add it to the beginning of our trip so we can avoid being in the parks on the weekends (staying Mon-Tues). Now we have to decided where to stay. We stayed at PBH for a night a couple of years ago so we are looking to experience something different. I was thinking of HRH since it is such a close walk.

Our kids will be 1, 7, and 9. We will definitely use the pool so a water slide is a bonus. There is about a $35 difference between HRH and RPR. Which would you recommend for our family. Also, what level room to pick. Is it worth the extra money to stay club level? Since we will have a crib is it worth the extra money for a larger room, I think the difference is about $90.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

The HRH is geared more toward adults and teens and the RPR is geared toward familys.
If your on a budget then I would say RPR is your best bet and you can always pool hop cause its encouraged.

Hi, I agree with you on the HRH for your family. I love the RPR and its theming; however, there are no deluxe rooms at RPR and the regular (std view/water view) rooms are small for a family of 5. They are offering Kids Suites there now, but those don't come cheap, and I don't know your budget.

If I were you, I'd opt for a Deluxe room at the HRH. Have never stayed club at HRH, so can't comment there. But, you could always book club and then request a Deluxe room on the Club floor. But, a Deluxe room is not a guarantee on a club, and it's only a request. The bonus is that if do get a Deluxe room on club, the regular rooms on Club and the Deluxe rooms on Club are both the same price.

You're not Loews Gold by any chance, are you? If you're Loews First Gold, you can book a standard room at HRH and get an automatic upgrade to a Deluxe room.

Kids? Large family? Water slide? Definately Hard Rock :thumbsup2

Thanks for all of the advice. No, we are not Loews gold, I don't even know what that is. I will definitely check out the deluxe rooms. Thanks again!

Hello, fellow New Jerseyean.. Be sure to sign up for the Loews First program. After only 6 nights, you get upgraded to Gold which gets you the auto-upgrade to a Deluxe room at HRH and PBH. You get other perks too.

Do a search (even a Google search on "tlinus"). She has stayed in a 2-Queen Deluxe and has posted pics. It's a nice size, and I would have to think that would be a lot more comfortable for you than the RPR (reg room). I think that might be pretty cramped for a party of 5, unless you're the type of family who only sleeps in the room and doesn't spend time there. Then you'd be fine. But if you're not, and with a crib set up, I think it'd be tight for you. It's only me and hubby in a reg room at RPR, and we leave the ironing board up and we're stepping over each other in the room.

Have fun planning. :goodvibes
