Please recommend a good tree stand.

No matter which stand I have gotten at what price, they seem not to last. Also, if it will accommodate a large trunk, it won't accommodate a small one. Grrrrrr.

We have this stand
Ultimate Tree Stand

and it is the best stand ever! Takes literally one minute to put the tree up and is totally secure. We leave the tree trussed up, put it in the stand, straighten and tighten. Then we cut the mesh from the tree. It is easy to loosen and reset the tree if it is crooked. It was a little pricey but I would never have another stand!

What's not lasting about the previous stands? I have two of the 20$ ones from Home Depot. I've never had a problem with the trunk size. And even though they've gotten really nasty a couple of times. They cleaned up really nicely.
I had one for myself, and my mom had one that she let sit outside for months, that I got. And after a bit of cleaning up, the one I got from my mom was a lot cleaner than mine.
