Hi everybody
My dog just died and i need help figureing out why. So if You know a vet or have a vet in your family or whatever please ask them if they know anything about ( i know this is gross but) pooping blood. Very low energy and throwing up. i know there is nothing i can do know but i would just like to know the cause.

Thank you very much if you can help me. i love you guys!

I'm no vet but from a past experience here is my best guess.

Your dog swallowed something sharp like say soft wood. It became blocked in it's intestine and/or it squeezed it's way out and pierced the intestine as it did so. This would explain the blood. The vomiting would be a result of the stomach trying to clear the contents the other way because of the blockage. The low energy just tags along with it, you know because of the energy they're not getting. We had a very hyper 3 month old puppy who had a blocked intestine and she just curled up for a whole week and barely moved.

Was your dog still eating and drinking normally?

I'm very sorry:hug:

I am not a vet but have experiance working with animals as my uncle is a vet and I am at his office a lot.

My dog did the same thing a few years ago. He started out just being lathargic, then throwing up, then bloody poop, then he, well, went to doggy Heaven. My uncle actually came to our house and put him down so that he would not suffer. He said that it was because of old age.

I'm really sorry about your doggie. :(

How old was it? Maybe it just died of old age.

Sorry I don't know what else it might be.

thanks you guys

it was only 6 months old exactly

and no we couldn't take it to the vet cus it was the weekend and we just thought it was something it ate so instead of taking it to the doggie emergency room we would just take it to the vet on monday however it died sometime in the night and we found him dead the next morning.

That is horrible. We never did find out how my dog died either. She was 7 which was young for a golden retriever and she showed no signs that she was going to pass away.

I am very sorry for your loss, but I think that no matter what happened or how it happened, you know that she is in a better place away from the pain.
