I just want to warn everyone out there!!! I placed an order with Oh My Crafts and Cricutmachine.com last week. This week I have several fraudulant charges on my account. Fortunately, my bank monitors your debit / credit activity very closely and saw some strange charges coming through. They shut off my card to stop further charges from coming through. The charges were from all over the country. I do not know which website was the unsecure one, but please be aware that this has happened and be careful! I have ordered from cricutmachine before, but not ohmycrafts...so I am leaning more towards them as the culprit. Anyway, make sure you are checking your statements and accounts.

I have use both companies before and have never had any issues with either. However, I use OHMYCRAFTS thru ebay and pay with paypal. I have never had issues with paypal either, in fact they were great when I had a problem with a seller on ebay. Glad your bank was on top of it.

There have been lots of cases this summer of fraudulent charges showing up after using cricutmachine.com . The recommendation is to use Paypal to pay, and not your actual CC. It's frustrating, since Cricutmachine is one of the companies that has a more direct relationship with PC, and now has exclusive carts. Someone from CricutMachine responded on the Cricut board, about how secure they have made the site. But the problem is, I know from DH's job, when these online ecommerce site, the info travels through about 5 different companies hands in order to be processed. So anyone through the chain could be where the lifting of numbers is happening.

I believe it was mm2000 how said that she had the same issue with cricutmachine.com...

This is another reason why I buy a prepaid card w/ X amount on it to use on all my online purchases.. Still doesn't make it right or even better...but I hate to have to much online with my personal accounts.

I read on another scrapbook site that multiple people had issues after buying from cricutmachine.com - even using Paypal to pay for their purchases. I won't buy from them for that reason. I'm glad your bank acted fast on your behalf.

Always use PayPal online as it adds an extra layer of protection between you and the company you are ordering from ... and I ONLY have my PayPal account hooked up to my cc not to my bank account. Both of these things will help protect you.

So sorry this happened to you! It can happen from any site. It happened to me when I bought something from Current Catalogue on-line. The next day we had a charge from another state for a $500 television! Thankfully our cc company caught it.

That stinks!!! So happy your bank caught it! I have ordered from OMC several times & never had a problem other than it takes forever to receive the order! I just ordered from cricutmachine last week and used my debit I will be very vigilant in checking my statements! I like the idea of using a prepaid card, although I usually use paypal. Thanks for the heads up.

After reading about the cc problems a few months ago, I've only been using Paypal when buying from cricutmachine.com. I haven't had any problems.

Well, they got mine. My bank caught it - and I checked as soon as I read this posting. The actual charge on my CC was from diecutcentral.com which is the same as cricut machine.com. THEN the fraudulent charges were from a software company called golden frog in texas. DARN. Cricut Machine.com has the best prices and shipping on cricut carts, but I sure wont' be shopping with them any more!

LOL My charges were for Blacksingles.com and Match.com...my DH was wondering if something was going on! But, yeah...one was in Utah and one in Texas. My bank said that they usually try some small charges first, then do a large one once those go through (if you haven't caught them yet). So, keep an eye out that you don't have anymore pop up! It was just last Wednesday that I ordered. They were having that great sale! On the up side...when I got home from the bank to fill out my affidavit yesterday, my fedex box from them was waiting for me! So, I now own Toy Story, Birthday Bash, Once Upon a Princess, Rock Princess and Winter Wonderland!! With the sale, I got them all for just over $100 and a couple of fraudulant card charges! I can laugh about it now because I have a new card coming and am getting my money back!

Please Please Please file reports with the Better Business Bureau and make sure your bank files charges with the police. Not sure if it would be an internet fraud dept within the bank or what but talk to your banks.

I'm not sure if it's the company, an employee, or someone has malware in their system but it's still cricutmachines responsibility to keep their customers info secure.

FYI apparently the diecutcentral is the owners ebay account ID.

Someone on the cricut boards is all up in arms about people saying it's cricutmachine (coming to CM's defense) but it's more then a coincidence that so many people order from them and get hit the next day.
Google cricutmachine theft, the cricut thread comes up as well as many others.

prouparents is who I got my "E" though Checked the CC statement and indeed it said diecutcentral. I have cancelled both cards (the CC and the debit) just in case

Thanks for the heads up! Won't be ordering from them anymore. Stinks to becuase they had such good prices. I used paypal so hopefully I was a little better protected. It has been a month since I last ordered and I haven't had any strange charges so so far so good.

You "may" be ok - my fradulent charges showed up within a few days - but if it were me, I'd keep track of my account every couple days, just to be sure.

Thanks again! I will keep checking my accounts. I always do. I had a similar thing happen to me about a year ago. Check went through my bank for something like $29.00 and turned out to be fraudulent. Reported it and bank returned the money, but it was scary and inconvenient. Had to cancel account, set up a new one, wait for everything to clear, etc.... And I think they believe it started with MaryKay somehow. You can never be toooo safe.
